摘要： An integrally molded plastic rodenticide dispenser has a base with a floor from which exterior sidewalls extend upwardly. A lid is joined to the base by an integral hinge. The lid is pivotal about the hinge to selectively cover and uncover the base. A passageway for pests, in particular rodents such as rats, is formed within the interior volume of the covered base by two converging barriers, the ends of which are spaced from one another to define a rodent feeding trough. Each barrier is comprised of two segments: a base barrier segment which is integrally formed with the base and extends upwardly from the base floor a distance less than the height of the base sidewalls, and a lid barrier segment which is integrally formed with the lid and which protrudes from the lid. The lid barrier segment is aligned with the base barrier segment when the lid covers the base to define a barrier across a portion of the base to block the passage of pests through the barrier. Pairs of prongs extend upwardly from the base barrier segment in spaced opposed relation, such that the lid barrier segment when it covers the base is engaged between the prongs to thereby restrict displacement of the lid barrier segment. Two spaced pockets are formed within the base which have ledges which receive lid protrusions. The locks so formed are inaccessible to tamperers, yet are conveniently opened by those provided with a two-tabbed key.

摘要： An insect control station for baiting and/or trapping insects that includes a base, a cover, and an insert locked between the base and cover. The insert is preferably a glueboard or tray. The glueboard, to which insects stick, is used for trapping insects in an environment. The tray is used for holding a toxic bait or attractant that the insect takes back to its nest. The tray may also be used to hold glue for trapping purposes. To maximize the safety of the naive person, especially a child, who does not know what an insect control station is, the base and cover are locked to each other with two hand operated keyless locks that operate independently of the other. The keyless locks are recessed relative to the cover at a span having a width greater than a child's hand such that a child may not operate the locks at the same time with one hand. The operating portion of the lock is located on the base so that if two hands operate the two different locks, the cover will not move. Further, the cover must first slide away from the locks before the cover may be removed from the base, whereupon access to the interior is gained. The base and cover are shaped to hold the insert against a floor of the base even if the insect control station is mounted upside down. The insect control station further has a low profile so that it can be tucked into narrow spaces, is rigid so that it can be stepped on without damaging the insert, and includes ramped openings for the crawling insects. The invention further discloses a method for controlling insects.

摘要： An insect station for insects having a base, a retainer, a cover and a disposable cup. The base and retainer engage the cup about the opening of the cup. The cover engages the base over the opening of the cup to minimize the collection of rain and dirt in the cup. A hole is dug in the ground for the insect station. The base is disposed at about grass level and is anchored with stakes into the turf. Openings between the cover and the base permit insects access to the cup. The cover and base include key and keyhole structures such that a certain level of effort is required to remove the cover from the base. The insect station may be used trapping/monitoring, where the retainer is used in the nature of a funnel to maximize the chances that insects will fall into the cup, where water, beer or another attractant can be placed. The insect station may also be used for baiting, where the retainer is flipped the other way and is used in the nature of a seal to minimize entry of dirt and water into the cup, where liquid, granular or gel bait is placed. Instead of being set in the ground, the insect station may be hung from a tree, post or other object or be placed on a surface “upside down” such that the cup points upwardly.
