A network connection is established with the base station by way of the second network, and communication with the base station is entered into by way of the second network.

摘要： The invention relates to methods and compositions for causing the selective targeting and killing of tumor cells. Through ex vivo gene therapy protocols tumor cells are engineered to express an α (1,3) galactosyl epitope. The cells are then irradiated or otherwise killed and administered to a patient. The α galactosyl epitope causes opsonization of the tumor cell enhancing uptake of the opsonized tumor cell by antigen presenting cells which results in enhanced tumor specific antigen presentation. The animal's immune system thus is stimulated to produce tumor specific cytotoxic cells and antibodies which will attack and kill tumor cells present in the animal.

摘要： The present invention provides an isolated population of adult hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) derived from embryonic stem cells (ESC) induced to differentiate in vitro by culturing ESCs in a medium with stem cell factor, interleukin (IL)-3, and IL-6. HSC of immunophenotype c-kit+ or c-kit+/CD45+ from this population are isolated and injected either intra bone marrow or intravenously into myeloablated recipient individuals. This method allows for the establishment of banks of allogeneic ESC-derived adult stem cells for treatments of autoimmune diseases, immune deficiencies and induction of immunotolerance during organ transplantation. These allogeneic ESC-derived adult hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) may be used in reconstituting bone marrow, without the development of teratomas or graft versus host disease, despite crossing histocompatibility barriers. Additionally, allogeneic ESC-derived HSC can be used to prevent the development of autoimmune diseases or organ rejection during transplantation.

The centralized notification system includes a central server that generates a message to be delivered to a mobile device. The centralized notification system includes an active server in communication with the central server that receives the message from the central server. The active server communicates with a network element that communicates with the mobile device. The active server queries the network element to determine availability of the mobile device. If the availability of the mobile device is returned from the network device, the message is directly routed to the mobile device, otherwise, the message is routed to a passive server. The passive server monitors message traffic for an event that provides availability information about the mobile device and automatically delivers the message to the mobile device in response thereto.

摘要： A method and system for providing targeted advertisement information to consumers over a wireless communications network. In one embodiment, local advertisers register to advertise on certain wireless communications devices that are in close proximity to the advertiser. As a consumer enters a cell site that is near the location of the advertiser, the wireless network delivers a message to the wireless device that is specified by the local advertiser. An acknowledgement signal is then received by the network, and the local advertiser's account is charged for transmission of the advertisement. In a further embodiment, each of the messages stored in the database is also associated with one or more demographic codes, and users of wireless communications device select from one more demographic codes to describer their advertisement preferences. Messages to be transmitted to particular wireless communications devices are selected based upon both the location information and the demographics codes that are associated with the messages.

摘要： A wireless telephone backup device for landline telephone equipment that may be located on the customer side of the landline service connection, typically in a restricted access location, such as an attic, basement, or utility closet. An interconnection circuit in the backup device detects service interruptions in the subscriber's landline connection and, in response, powers on a wireless communication device to provide backup telephone service to the customer premises equipment. The interconnection circuit also provides the other features standard landline telephone service, including dial tone, ring voltage, and normal dialing for outgoing calls. The backup device also forwards incoming landline calls to the wireless unit in the backup device, and may send a message notifying a maintenance center of the service interruption. Further, the backup device may initiate an indicator in an alarm system at the site of the customer premises equipment to notify the subscriber of the service interruption.
