摘要： This invention provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that operates in connection with a machine vision detector or other machine vision system, which provides a highly intuitive and industrial machine-like appearance and layout. The GUI includes a centralized image frame window surrounded by panes having buttons and specific interface components that the user employs in each step of a machine vision system set up and run procedure. One pane allows the user to view and manipulate a recorded filmstrip of image thumbnails taken in a sequence, and provides the filmstrip with specialized highlighting (colors or patterns) that indicate useful information about the underlying images. The system is set up and run are using a sequential series of buttons or switches that are activated by the user in turn to perform each of the steps needed to connect to a vision system, train the system to recognize or detect objects/parts, configure the logic that is used to handle recognition/detection signals, set up system outputs from the system based upon the logical results, and finally, run the programmed system in real time. The programming of logic is performed using a programming window that includes a ladder logic arrangement. A thumbnail window is provided on the programming window in which an image from a filmstrip is displayed, focusing upon the locations of the image (and underlying viewed object/part) in which the selected contact element is provided.

摘要： A system for interactively generating a computer program for machine vision analysis insures that the program is correct by permitting the operator to make only syntactically correct modifications to the program. The system includes an element for storing the computer program being generated. A further element displays the program to the operator. A positioning element demarks a location of interest within the program. A menu element displays permissible programming modifications for the location of interest. The menu element incorporates in its display of permissible programming modifications statements for machine vision analysis of an object image, e.g., calls to machine vision subroutines and functions. To facilitate specification of input parameters to those subroutines and functions, the imaging element can generate a candidate image of the object upon which the machine vision analysis is to be run. A graphical input element displays over that candidate image a graphical icon that the operator can manipulate to specify the parameters. A textual input element can display an icon, e.g., a dialog box, prompting the operator to designate textually input parameters for the machine vision tool. An update element responds to the operator selection by appropriately modifying the stored program.

摘要： A system, method and GUI for displaying and controlling vision system operating parameters includes an automated region of interest (ROI) graphic image that is applied to a discrete region of a selected image in response to a single click by a user. At least one automated operating parameter is generated automatically in response to the single click by the user at the discrete region, so as to determine whether a feature of interest (such as a pattern, a blob or an edge) is in the automated ROI graphic image. Illustratively, the automated ROI graphic image (a pass/fail graphic image) is user-movable to allow the user to move the automated ROI graphic image from a first positioning to a second positioning, to thereby automatically reset the operating parameter to a predetermined value in accordance with the second positioning.
