    • A rotor (10) for a thermal machine, in particular a steam or gas turbine, includes a plurality of rotor disks (12, 13, 14) which are arranged one behind the other in the rotor axis (11) and are welded to one another, at least one first rotor disk (13), which is arranged in a section of the rotor (10) which is subject to particularly high thermal loads, including a nickel-base alloy which is able to withstand high temperatures and is welded to at least one second, adjacent rotor disk (12, 14), which includes a steel which is able to withstand high temperatures. In a rotor (10) of this type, accurate testing of the welded joints located in the high-temperature region is achieved by nondestructive testing by virtue of the fact that a first rotor ring (15, 16) of a steel which is able to withstand high temperatures is inserted between the first and second rotor disks (13 and 12, 14), which first rotor ring (15, 16) on one side is welded to the second rotor disk (12, 14) and on the other side is joined to the first rotor disk (13) via an encircling weld seam (21, 21′, 26).

    • A steam power plant with retrofit kit has a steam generator (1) with superheater, a steam turbine set including condensation installations (11), connecting pipelines, auxiliary devices and a generator (10). The steam power plant (22) is distinguished by the fact that the retrofit kit includes a retrofit turbine module (25) which is designed for elevated temperature and for unchanged or modified pressure and is connected upstream of the existing steam turbine set or is exchanged for the high-pressure turbine of the latter. Furthermore, a method for retrofitting an existing steam power plant includes the following steps: connecting a retrofit turbine module (25) for high operating temperatures and unchanged or modified operating pressure upstream of the existing turbine set or exchanging the existing high-pressure turbine for the retrofit turbine module (25); providing a steam generator (1) and/or superheater (32) for high live steam temperature. This improves the efficiency and/or the service life of an existing steam power plant. The retention of as many original parts of the steam power plant as possible leads to an inexpensive solution for increasing output. Moreover, the general infrastructure can be maintained to the extent that to do so is economical and environmentally compatible.

    • A steam inlet valve (1) of a steam turbine, with a valve seat (2) and a valve body (3) which, when the valve is closed, bears via a contact region (5) with sealing effect on a contact region (5′) of the valve seat (2). At least one of the two contact regions (5, 5′) has at least one sealing region (6) which faces the other contact region (5, 5′), a base region (7) which faces away from the sealing region (6), and a transition region (8) which is situated between them, wherein the sealing region (6) is formed from a sealing material (B) and the base region (7) is formed from a base material (A), which the valve seat (2) or the valve body (3) also approximately comprises. In order to increase the wear resistance of the contact regions (5, 5′) and of the steam inlet valve (1) as a result of it, the concentration of the base material (A) reduces from the base region (7) in the direction towards the sealing region (6) in the same way as the concentration of the sealing material (B) reduces from the sealing region (6) in the direction towards the base region (7), so that both materials (A, B) are to be found in the transition region (8).
