    • A handpiece having a releasable retaining device for a tool having a shaft about which the tool rotates. The handpiece has a housing and a drive sleeve rotatably mounted in the housing. The drive sleeve has a hollow cylindrical insertion hole into which the shaft of the tool is placed. A drive means is provided for rotation of the drive sleeve. First and/or second releasable couplings are provided for rotatably and/or axially connecting the shaft to the drive sleeve. The releasable couplings have either a coupling slider or pressure member which is displaceable between coupling and decoupling positions. An actuating device is provided for displacing the coupling slider or pressure member into their decoupling position. In one embodiment the coupling slider is made of a ceramic material and fabricated into its final form by means of a single fabrication process without after treatment. In another embodiment the coupling slider is made from a ceramic material, and a ring-shaped spring (urging the coupling slider into its coupling position) has ends separated by a distance. The coupling slider has two peripheral grooves on a side opposite a free end of the coupling slider, in which grooves the ends of the ring-shaped spring are disposed. In a third embodiment, the pressure member is fabricated from a ceramic material and has a color mark on a visible surface formed by coloring the ceramic material.

    • In a vibration frame (1) for print elements (2) of a matrix line printer, the print elements (2) are furnished in the clapper armature construction. The print elements (2) form neighboring component units in line direction (3) in or, respectively, at a profile rod (7). Said component units include, in each case, a magnetic yoke (8), an electromagnetic coil (9), a clapper armature (10), a clapper armature pivoting hinge support (11), a restoring spring (12), and print elements (2) attached at the clapper armature (10). In order to create a space-saving lateral guiding for the clapper armature (10), the clapper armature (10) is, in each case, laterally guided and pivotably movable by at least one tongue (15), extending perpendicular to the longitudinal extension and engaging into a recess (16). The restoring spring (12) is formed as an arm spring (17). The arm spring (17) forms with a spring arm (18) a second lateral guide for the clapper armature (10).

In order to further increase the driving frequency for such electromagnetic coils (L), it is disclosed that a discharge time (t3), for the feeding back of the discharge current from the capacitor (C) into the electromagnetic coil (L) and via a resistor (R3) and a transistor (V2) into the capacitor (C), is provided following to a charge time (t2) for the capacitor (C), which charge time (t2) follows to a first pulse time (t1). Such a drive system is suitable both for electromagnetic-coil permanent-magnet systems as well as electromagnetic-coil clapper-armature systems.

    • The drive circuit for an electromagnetic actuator for the impact element in a printer includes a series circuit of a drive transistor and of a switching transistor there being a reference resistor interposed which together with a Zener diode serves as a current limiter for the current through the drive transistor and the electromagnetic element. The two transistors are controlled in that each of the base electrodes is serially connected to the emitter collector path of a control transistor and the two control transistors in turn are connected to monostable multivibrators which are triggered concurrently but furnish pulses of different duration such that the switching transistor is turned off before the drive transistor. The current limiting permits utilization of residual electromagnetic energy from the preceding actuation pulse without incurring undue losses.
