摘要： A floor lamp with a pair of rotatable tubular members defining a vertically extendable telescopic body. The larger tubular member is provided with an internal longitudinal rib. A pair of pins project from an exterior surface of the smaller tubular member at one side thereof, the ends of the pins out of contact with the interior surface of the larger tubular member. A cylindrical guide formed with a longitudinal slot is captively held between the projecting pins, the rib received within the slot. As the smaller tubular member is rotated relative to the larger tubular member, the pins engage the rib and limit rotational movement to less than one complete revolution.

摘要： An extensible swivel for lamps and the like is disclosed. The extensible swivel preferably is incorporated in a leg or an arm of a lamp, where the leg or the arm includes upper and lower tubular members joined by a retainer ring. An extension sleeve preferably is secured with one end in the upper tubular member and, a hollow swivel is secured to the sleeve's other end. The lower tubular member is provided with a key sleeve having a key along its axial length. The hollow swivel is designed to be accommodated, for axial and rotational adjustment, within the key sleeve. Such adjustment, when made, is held frictionally stable and stationary. The hollow swivel includes a spindle on which the swivel's operative parts are mounted. These operative parts include a stop ring fixedly mounted to the spindle, at least one double-leg ring member mounted in operative association with the stop ring and, a stop bushing provided with a channel and mounted in operative association with the double-leg ring member. The channel is designed to accommodate the key of the key sleeve. The rotational adjustment of the swivel can vary anywhere from a fraction of a revolution to several revolutions.

The mating face of each rotatable member is formed with an arcuately disposed race of predetermined length. A ball received within a channel formed by the races of juxtaposed rotatable members constrains the swivel joint to a maximum rotation of one revolution.

摘要： In a floor lamp having, as a stand, upper and lower telescoping rigid tubes extending between a supporting base and a supported lamp socket, an electrical cord extends from the base to the socket through a spring-like plastic sleeve, which has an upper portion that is fixed to the upper tube, a medial portion that is extended linearly through the lower sleeve and a lower portion that is coiled compactly in the base. Reciprocation of the upper tube in the lower tube in order to adjust the height of the socket causes more or less of the plastic sleeve to be stored in its lower coiled portion while preventing fouling of the electrical cord as a result of frequent raising and lowering of the stand.
