    • In an apparatus for point-by-point and line-by-line, opto-electronic scanning of masters chucked on a scanner drum, an illumination unit is provided for generating an illumination spot on the master. A scanner objective, a scanner element and a feed support is provided at which the illumination unit, the scanner objective and the scanner element are arranged. The illumination unit comprises a light conductor that is aligned in the direction of the rotational axis of the scanner drum and has a light exit face for generating a light spot and has optical elements for imaging the light spot onto the master as an illumination spot. At least a sub-section of the light conductor in the region of the light exit face can be inclined by small angles relative to the rotational axis with a Cardanic bearing for fine adjustment of optical beam paths, as a result whereof the illumination spot is displaced on the scanner drum. The slope of the light conductor that has been found to be optimum is then fixed.

    • The invention relates to a recording arrangement for image information in the production of printing forms. The laser light modulated with the image content is conducted through a multimode light waveguide into a recording element. There, the modulated laser light illuminates a diaphragm which is imaged onto a light-sensitive recording medium as an exposure point. A multimode light waveguide has the disadvantage that the light distribution at its exit surface is non-uniform due to the modes being formed in the light waveguide. Thus, the diaphragm is likewise non-uniformly illuminated and the exposure point exhibits an inhomogeneous light distribution, whereby the exposure on the recording medium is streaky. What is proposed is to dispose a scatter disk (6) and an additional focusing lens (13) between the exit surface (2) of the light waveguide (1) and the diaphragm (17) and to accordingly dimension the optical spacings. Homogenous diaphragm illumination and a streak-free recording are achieved by means of this feature.

    • A device and a method for detecting the edge of a recording material, in particular, a printing plate, in an exposer for recording printing originals includes an exposer having an exposure drum holding the plate, and an exposure head moved axially along the drum and focusing exposure beams onto the plate. An optical fiber is let into the drum surface and an illuminating device, moved axially along the drum, radiates light radially into the fiber. A photodetector at the fiber receives the light radiated therein. Covering the light radiated in with the plate is used to detect the plate edge. Counting cycles of a feed drive moving the illuminating device determines an axial position of the edge. Alternatively, light of a light source is radiated axially into the fiber and the light emitted radially by the fiber is received using an optical detector moved by the feed drive.
