    • An improved method of tracking a camera in dynamic chroma-keying of the type in which a foreground object is photographed against a multicolored chroma-key screen. The multicolor patterns are created by projection on a monochrome screen, for example by projecting light through a mask on a screen colored with the chroma-key color. The projection of multiple patterns can emulate the use of a single pattern having multiple levels of detail, and can enable lateral tracking of the camera. Sequentially projecting known transformations (for example, rotations) of a pattern adds an extra degree of freedom which further enhances the accuracy of the method.

    • An airborne avionics simulator system integrated into a low-cost host aircraft to simulate the avionics of a high performance aircraft. The simulated avionics system includes for example radar, radar warning, chaff, radar locks, weapons systems, electronic defensive systems, and navigation systems. The airborne avionics simulator system can be programmed with various scenarios, such as air-to-air or air-to-ground combat, navigational situations, aircraft malfunctions, and general training routines. A multi-function display provides for simulating the avionics of various high performance aircraft. Additionally, the cockpit of the host aircraft may be modified to simulate the control stick, throttle assemblies and other aspects of a particular high performance aircraft.

    • A method and system for animating a 3-dimensional graphics model composed of geometrical elements which is viewed by an observer whose line of sight effects relative movement with respect to the model. Successive frames of pixels are processed by obtaining motion parameters corresponding to the relative movement of the observer's line of sight with respect to the model and processing all of the geometrical elements in the 3-dimensional graphics model in order to derive a large number of voxels some of which are hidden from the observer's line of sight and are therefore superfluous. The superfluous voxels are eliminated from the large number of voxels so as to derive successive intermediate frames each containing a relatively small number of voxels within the observer's line of sight, and each intermediate frame is processed at a rate no less than the frequency of fusion so as to produce and display successive intermittent frames of pixels wherein relative movement appears continuous to the observer.

    • A grid-based transmission system for determining relative positions of vehicles in a grid quadrangle of a reference grid, each vehicle having a transmitter and a receiver, comprising determining an absolute position of a vehicle.
