摘要： The present invention provides a liquid crystal display controller device and method which provides for a full and/or partial display with good display quality and/or low power consumption based on the scanning period for an active scan line being dependent upon a number of reference clock pulses. Some embodiments of the present invention include one or more of the following features: keeping the frequency substantially constant for different numbers of active scan lines, allowing change of the frequency due to characteristics of the LCD, displaying gradation with near linear effective voltage characteristics, displaying graduation data with lower power, or displaying a partial or full screen in a mobile device, for example, a cell phone.

摘要： There is provided a liquid crystal display control device which can display pictures in a magnification mode by using only a memory having a low-speed access and a low storage capacity. When a video signal has intermediate resolution or less, the enlargement processing is performed by a frame memory, a line memory and an enlargement processing control circuit. If the input operation and the output operation to and from the frame memory are synchronized with each other, it is sufficient for the frame memory to have a storage capacity of two lines. When the video signal has the same high resolution as a liquid crystal display panel, the video signal is output through a gate circuit to a display timing generating circuit, and it is displayed in a through mode. In this case, no processing is performed by the frame memory or the like.

摘要： A display device for displaying display data includes a display panel having pixel sections in a matrix form, a scanning circuit which selects a line of the pixel sections, a generation circuit which generates a plurality of gray-scale voltages based on a reference voltage, and a selection circuit which selects a gray-scale voltage corresponding to the display data from the plurality of gray-scale voltages, and outputs the gray-scale voltage thus selected to a pixel section of the display panel. The generation circuit one of increases and decreases a steady-state current of the generation circuit at a second period within one scanning period of the scanning circuit.

摘要： A display driver for outputting gradation voltages corresponding to gradation data from an external device to pixels. The display driver includes a generator for generating a plurality of gradation voltages having a plurality of levels based on a reference voltage, and a selector for selecting at least one gradation voltage corresponding to the gradation data from the plurality of gradation voltages generated by the generator. The gradation data includes multi-bits for each color of red, green and blue, and the generator outputs or stops outputting each gradation voltage according to data for color reduction from the external device. The generator stops outputting at least one gradation voltage that is unnecessary for displaying as a result of the color reduction, when the color of the gradation data is reduced according to the data for color reduction.

摘要： A reference voltage generating circuit which generates reference voltages at a plurality of levels, a voltage follower circuit for stabilizing the reference voltages at a plurality of levels and a gray scale voltage generating circuit which generates gray scale voltages at a plurality of levels from the stabilized reference voltages are provided. The voltage follower circuit includes a differential amplifier which receives at one input the reference voltages, first and second buffer circuits connected in parallel to each other, and a resistor. Outputs of the first and second buffer circuits are connected to each other through the resistor, with the output of the first buffer circuit being fed back to the other input of the differential amplifier and the output of the second buffer circuit being connected to serve as an output of the voltage follower circuit.

摘要： In a low power consumption data transmission circuit and method, and a liquid crystal display apparatus using the same, 24-bit display data is transmitted from a transceiver circuit to a receiver circuit through a transmission line so that the display data is displayed on a liquid crystal panel. The transceiver circuit has a holding circuit including an 8-stage shift register. The transceiver circuit outputs 24-bit data to the transmission line by use of first and second output circuits when data different from data held in the holding circuit is to be transmitted from the transmission line and outputs data indicative of a hold position in the holding circuit from the second output circuit when the same data as that held in the holding circuit is to be transmitted from the transmission line. When the data indicative of a hold position is transmitted and received, the receiver circuit decodes or restores the received hold position indicating data into 24-bit display data by use of data held in a holding circuit provided in the receiver circuit.

摘要： There are provided a liquid crystal driving circuit and a liquid crystal display device in which the display brightness and color variation to input display data values can be adjusted. Input display data of one line period are taken into a latch circuit (1) with a latch signal output from a latch address control circuit, and latch circuit (1) data are taken into a latch circuit (2) at the timing of a line clock. Further, the latch circuit (2) data are input to a decode circuit. In accordance with set data output from a set register which sets the set register setting data with a set register setting clock, a gray-scale voltage which is matched with data of each pixel is selected and output as a selection voltage from the decode circuit. The selection voltage is buffered in an amplifying circuit, and then a liquid crystal applying voltage is output.
