摘要： The apparatus, which is used with a vehicle, comprises a breath alcohol sensor and a computing device. The computing device is operatively coupled in use to the sensor and the vehicle and configured to record data: which provides information indicative of the likelihood that the vehicle has been operated in circumstances wherein a breath sample has not been delivered to the sensor within a predetermined period preceding the commencement of said operation; and associated with the delivery of breath samples to the sensor that contain alcohol in excess of a predetermined threshold.

A set of 34 features were extracted from eye tracking data collected in subjects participating in a simulated driving experiment. Vigilance was assessed by power spectral analysis of multichannel electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, recorded simultaneously, and binary labels of alert and drowsy (baseline) were generated for each epoch of the eye tracking data. In respect to the last image in the stream preceding the image in which one or more faces was found, a tracker based upon wavelet decomposition is used to find a face for each face found in the last image for which no counterpart was found in the image.

In the method, images of an area are captured over a period of time. In respect of each image: a matching calculation is carried out, based upon a comparison of the image captured with the images in the dictionary to result in a measure of confidence that the subject is in the area; and an inference determination is made to replace one of the target collection images with a further image that is known with the defined level of certainty, the determination being a function of the measure of confidence resultant from the captured image, the measure resultant from one or more previously captured images and the associated capture times.

摘要： The apparatus is for use with a motor vehicle operated by a driver and includes a scanning device and a computing facility. The scanning device, in use, gathers information about the eye activity of the driver. The computing facility determines, based on the information gathered, whether the driver is watching the road. The determination can include one or more of: ascertaining an orientation of at least one of the driver's eyes; and ascertaining an orientation of the head of the driver. The computing facility can be defined by a microprocessor. If the facility determines that the driver is not watching the road, the facility can trigger an alarm state of the vehicle. The apparatus can be employed for persons convicted of driving while texting in a manner analogous to the manner in which breath alcohol ignition interlocks are employed for persons convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol.
