The system includes a plurality of frequency domain carrier processing blocks configured to iteratively perform frequency domain processing of at least one frequency domain OFDM signal carrier to reduce peak power transmission and a plurality of time domain carrier processing blocks configured to iteratively perform time domain processing of at least one time domain signal carrier to reduce peak power transmission, wherein the system is further configured to perform the frequency domain processing and time domain processing substantially simultaneously, thereby spreading excess peak power to one or more of the plurality of frequency domain OFDM signal carriers and to one or more of the plurality of time domain signal carriers.

    • A frequency offset of a received signal comprising a number of subsequently received data symbols is estimated. A first estimate is determined from a calculated change in phase of the received signal between two received symbols having a first time distance between them. At least one further estimate is determined from a calculated change in phase of the received signal between two received symbols having a different time distance. A frequency periodicity is determined for each estimate from the distance between the two received symbols from which the estimate was determined. A set of integer values is determined for each estimate so that frequency values calculated for each estimate as the frequency periodicity multiplied by the integer value added to the estimate are at least approximately equal to each other, and a corrected estimate of the frequency offset is determined from the integer values.

The method comprises determining a desired number of MICH frames; upon connection with a NodeB, receiving an available number of MICH frames within a modification period; decoding notification indications of the received MICH frames; determining a majority value being the number of notification indications having a most frequent value of the decoded notification indications; and if a ratio between the majority value and the desired number of MICH frames is above a threshold value, determining the correct notification indicator to be the most frequent value, or if the ratio between the majority value and the desired number of MICH frames is less than the threshold value, connecting to the NodeB; receiving further MICH frames; and decoding notification indications of the received MICH frames such that the correct notification indicator is achieved. A computer program and a User Equipment apparatus are also disclosed.

    • Sensing wireless transmissions from a licensed user of a licensed spectral resource includes obtaining information indicating a number of adjacent sensors that are concurrently sensing wireless transmissions from the licensed user of the licensed spectral resource. Such information can be obtained from a main node controlling the sensor and its adjacent sensors, or by the sensor itself (e.g., by means of short-range communication equipment targeting any such adjacent sensors). A sensing rate is then determined as a function, at least in part, of the information indicating the number of adjacent sensors that are concurrently sensing wireless transmissions from the licensed user of the licensed spectral resource. Receiver equipment is then periodically operated at the determined sensing rate, wherein the receiver equipment is configured to detect wireless transmissions from the licensed user of the licensed spectral resource.
