    • Systems and/or methods for forming a multiple-articulated flying system (skybase) having a high aspect ratio wing platform, operable to loiter over an area of interest at a high altitude are provided. In certain exemplary embodiments, autonomous modular flyers join together in a wingtip-to-wingtip manner. Such modular flyers may derive their power from insolation. The autonomous flyers may include sensors which operate individually, or collectively after a skybase is formed. The skybase preferably may be aggregated, disaggregated, and/or re-aggregated as called for by the prevailing conditions. Thus, it may be possible to provide a “forever-on-station” aircraft.

    • An implantable lead for electrical stimulation of a spinal cord is disclosed. The implantable lead has a paddle having a surface and a first and a second end, an electrode array positioned and arranged on the surface of the paddle, and at least one tether having an end that extends from one of the first and the second end of the paddle. The electrode array has at least one electrode contact configured to communicate with a corresponding electrode and a conductor. The implantable lead may be included in a kit that also has a securing device and instructions for implanting the implantable lead into the spinal cord. A method of making the implantable lead configured for electric stimulation of a spinal cord is also disclosed. A method of implanting the implantable lead in a spinal canal is also disclosed.

    • In various embodiments, the invention provides enhanced structures, devices, and techniques that allow fluids and liquid products, such as cosmetics, to dispense in a more even, smoother, and more predictable manner from fluid containers. In one embodiment, a plug is positioned within at least a portion of an interior of a nozzle of a fluid container. The plug may include a base portion having at least one fluid flow opening formed therein and a bellows portion. In operation, the bellows portion may expand to an elongated state upon application of a threshold fluid pressure to create a pathway for communicating fluid, and may contract to a compressed state which creates a fluid communication seal between a fluid repository and dispensing orifice of the fluid container.

    • A method is provided for estimating channel state information in an in-band on-channel radio signal including a plurality of digitally modulated reference subcarriers. The method includes: receiving symbols transmitted on the reference subcarriers; combining the reference subcarrier symbols with a known reference sequence conjugate to produce a plurality of samples; median filtering the samples to produce filtered samples; smoothing the samples for each of the reference subcarriers over the plurality of reference subcarriers to produce a complex channel gain estimate for each of the subcarriers; and using a bias correction function to compensate for estimation bias error in the complex channel gain estimate due to the median filtering. Receivers that implement the method are also provided.
