摘要： A recloseable pouring spout structure for a wall of a product dispensing carton has a first wall panel connected to the carton at a first fold line. The first wall panel has a first aperture. There is a second wall panel connected to the carton at a second fold line generally parallel and opposite to the first fold line. The second wall panel lies interior to the first wall panel and has an opener tab therein defined by a leader edge that is generally parallel to the second fold line, a hinge line generally parallel to the leader edge and a pair of generally parallel opposed side edges extending between the hinge line and the leader edge. At least one locking tab is present on one of the side edges intermediate the leader edge and the hinge line. The locking tab extends in a direction generally perpendicular to the extension direction of the leader tab and is positioned to underlie and engage an edge of the first aperture when the locking tab is in the plane of the second wall panel. There is a third wall panel connected to the carton at a third fold line generally perpendicular to the first and second fold lines. The package comprises an open-top, generally rectangular box having a length and height substantially greater than its thickness when erected. The carton includes a top closure panel having a generally free edge. One of a pair of sealing tabs is removably attached adjacent each of the ends of the free edge of the closure panel. A generally central reclosing tab is located along the free edge between the sealing tabs. The front panel of the package has a relieved access area cut out therefrom for facilitating access to the package contents. Additionally, the front panel includes a reclosure tab slit for receiving the reclosure tab so that the carton can be lockably reclosed. The invention also encompasses a flat blank for forming into the package.

摘要： A collapsible package for use in surface heating of food by microwave energy comprises first and second sling enclosures. Each sling enclosure comprises a pair of parallel, opposed, substantially rectangular wall panels, the ends of which are joined by collapsible bridge panels. The bridge panels are movable between a collapsed position in which the wall panels lie against each other and an expanded position in which the wall panels are held in spaced relation to each other. The second sling enclosure is joined to the first sling enclosure at a center fold line between adjacent wall panels of said first and second sling enclosures. A generally rectangular strip of thin, flexible material capable of converting microwave energy into heat is affixed between the two opposed side walls of the first and second sling enclosures that are not connected at the center fold line. One of two opposed edges of said strip if affixed to each side wall. The portion of the flexible strip that is intermediate these two opposed edges is draped over the two side walls joined at the center fold line to form a sling of flexible material in each of the first and second sling enclosures. The present invention also encompasses a flat blank to which the strip of flexible material capable of converting microwave energy into heat can be attached, with the blank being folded and glued into a configuration that can be easily erected into the package previously described.

摘要： The invention is a method for forming package blanks incorporating selectively located microwave absorbing areas for crisping and/or browning one or more surfaces of a packaged product. Successive lengths of an extended web of thin, microwave transparent film are transported past means for depositing a thin layer of microwave energy absorbing material on one side of the film while masking selected areas of the film web by masks placed adjacent the film surface on which the microwave absorbing layer is deposited. No microwave absorbing material is deposited in the selected masked areas. Successive lengths of the resulting film are laminated onto an extended web of flexible dielectric packaging material with the microwave absorbing layer sandwiched between the film and the flexible dielectric packaging material. Thereafter, successive lengths of the resulting laminated web are fed through a die cutting machine that cuts one or more package blanks from the laminated web. The package blanks include both areas incorporating microwave absorbing material and areas free from such material. The invention also includes an article of manufacture made by the method.
