摘要： A valve including: a housing; a rotating member positioned within the housing; and an actuator engaged with the rotating member; wherein the rotating member has a generally cylindrical form and at least one cavity extending through a portion of the generally cylindrical form in a direction generally perpendicular to an axis of the generally cylindrical form; wherein the rotating member is positioned within the housing such that, during operation of the valve, the actuator rotates the rotating member within the housing about the axis of the generally cylindrical form, and upon completion of about 90° of rotation of the rotating member about the axis, the at least one cavity becomes aligned within the housing to change the valve from an open condition to a closed condition, or from a closed condition to an open condition; and wherein the rotating member includes inorganic fibers and at least one binder. Methods of making and using the valve are also contemplated.

摘要： An inorganic fiber containing silica and magnesia as the major fiber components and which further includes an intended iron oxide additive to improve the dimensional stability of the fiber. The inorganic fiber exhibits good thermal insulation performance at 1400° C. and greater, retains mechanical integrity after exposure to the use temperature, and which remains non-durable in physiological fluids. Also provided are thermal insulation product forms comprising a plurality of the inorganic fibers, methods of preparing the inorganic fiber and of thermally insulating articles using thermal insulation prepared from a plurality of the inorganic fibers.

摘要： A mounting mat for an exhaust gas treatment device includes first and second major opposite facing surfaces, leading and trailing edges, and opposite lateral edges. At least a portion of one or both of the opposite lateral edges includes an edge protectant that protects the mounting mat against erosion from hot gases encountered during the normal operation of the exhaust gas treatment device. The edge protectant remains flexible after it has been applied to the mounting mat and substantially dried. Also disclosed is an exhaust gas treatment device that includes a housing and a fragile structure mounted within the housing by the mounting mat having the edge protectant deposited thereon. Additionally disclosed are methods of making the mounting mat and an exhaust gas treatment device.
