    • Disclosed is a device for the continuous gravimetric metering and pneumatic conveying of pourable material which is conveyed across a given distance by a metering rotor (1) which is arranged in a pressure-proof manner in a housing (2) and is provided with conveying pockets (1a). Said housing (2) comprises a charging station and a discharging station for the pourable material, which are connected to the inlet/outlet (4, 5) of a pneumatic conveyor system. The housing (2) is connected to a force metering device which detects the momentary load generated on the metering rotor (1) by the conveyed material. The inlet and outlet of the pneumatic conveyor system are connected to the bottom of the housing (2). In order to build the inventive device in a compact manner while reducing the assembly requirements and improving flow guidance, the flow from the inlet (4) to the outlet (5) is deflected within the upper area of the housing (2).

    • A method for contact-free determination of quality features of a meat goods test subject provides for determination of a proportional fat-meat ratio of a carcass half. The test subject is illuminated and scanned by a video camera with the meat and fat tissues being distinguished from one another according to relative brightness. Brightness signals from the camera are digitized by comparing the brightness signals with a discrimination-typical threshold value corresponding to a brightness determined such that all brighter and all darker tissue parts respectively deviating above and below the threshold value are represented as white or approximately white image parts and as black or approximately black image parts. The discrimination-typical threshold value is established as a value which is substantially independent of a background brightness associated with the test subject so as to solely distinguish between brightness signals of the meat tissue only.

    • A method and apparatus is disclosed for the contact-free determination of features of quality of a test object selected from meat products. In one embodiment the test object is radiated with a light source. Radiation emanating from the test object is detected to create definite radiation values. These definite radiation values are then analyzed, preferably in comparison to the reference values. In another embodiment, a scanning device is employed for the production of a scanning ray. The scanning ray is deflected over the test object and a detector is employed for determining characteristics of points on the test object scanned by the scanning ray. With the method and apparatus disclosed, quality features such as the fresh condition, color and meat/fat ratio of the meat may be determined.
