    • A stereoscopic image display apparatus of this invention includes a half mirror having a ½ wavelength plate and a half mirror layer. Therefore, a direction of polarization of light incident on a surface of a transmission side of the half mirror can be rotated and emitted. This can be manufactured at lower manufacturing cost than a construction having the ½ wavelength plate on the front display plane of one of the two image display devices with linear polarization plates having the same polarizing direction, or preparing two image display devices with linear polarization plates having different polarizing directions. A high-quality stereoscopic image can be observed by adjusting the orders and positions of sub-pixel colors of the two image display devices at the time of composition and display through the half mirror.

    • An electronic game machine having a single dealer machine for dominating a game procedure and a plurality of player machines responsive to the single dealer machine for playing the game procedure in conjunction with the single dealer machine. The single dealer machine includes a first data processing unit, a first memory, a first panel display, and a first power source. The game procedure is shared by the first data processing unit and each of the plurality of second data processing units so that a game may be played between a single player unit and the dealer machine or any number of player units and the dealer machine.

    • In a screen light computation device, a first polarizing filter (93) blocks P waves reflected by a reflective surface, and screen light; the reflected light sensor (95) receives S waves; a second polarizing filter (83) allows the screen light to pass while blocking the S waves; and a screen light sensor (85), being set at Brewster's angle, where the P waves is not received, still receives some leakage P waves. A screen light extraction computation (LUT; not shown) stores a correlation between the detection value by the reflected light sensor 95 and the detection value by the screen light sensor 85. The LUT is queried, a value of only the screen light that does not include reflected light is computed, and the screen light that does not include ambient light (reflected light) reflected in a display screen of the monitor is detected without turning off a backlight of a monitor.

    • A luminance detected by a built-in photosensor and a luminance of light emitted from a backlight through a liquid crystal panel are measured in a plurality of states where the backlight has a different luminance, and are preliminarily stored in a storage unit.
