    • A heel retainer for a ski binding, includes a base plate using which the heel retainer can be fastened to an upper side of a ski or snowboard; a connecting structure connectable to the base plate; and a tensioning device using which a ski boot is tensioned onto the ski. The connecting structure includes first and second connecting structure parts. The first connecting structure part can be moved relative to the second connecting structure part in the transverse release direction when the ski binding is transversely released. The tensioning device includes a sole retainer which, in direct contact with the sole of a ski boot, tensions the ski boot onto the ski or snowboard. The sole retainer is formed as a rolling body exhibiting a rotational axis and is connected to the tensioning device such that the sole retainer can be rotated about its rotational axis.

    • A ski boot sole for cooperating with a ski binding to releasably hold the sole in the binding, the sole having front and rear recesses with front and rear metal inserts. The front recess and the front metal insert are engaged by the front sole holder rotatable about a longitudinal axis for releasably holding the front sole holder against displacement in the forward, sideways and vertical directions. The rear recess and rear metal insert is engageable by the rear binding which is rotatable about a transverse axis. The rear sole holder butts against the portion of the fitting plate extending outside the border of the sole to secure the rear portion of the sole in the rearward, sideways and vertical directions. The front and rear metal inserts are held on the bottom of the ski boot sole by threaded inserts mounted above the sole, with screws extending through aligned holes in the metal inserts and the threaded inserts.

    • A binding for a snowboard including a base plate having a central opening and a fastening plate located inside the central opening. The fastening plate is held to the board by fasteners, which can be moved to different holes in a pattern of holes. A flange plate and a clamping disk are retained to the fastening plate by screw connection sleeves threaded into threaded bolt holes located on the fastening plate. A spring located on the fastening plate tries to lift the flange plate and the clamping disk in the vertical direction. The clamping disk includes arcuate concentric slots having a ramp-like bearing surface conforming to heads on the screw connection sleeves having convex undersides. The clamping disk has a first rotational position and a second rotational position. The first rotational position forces a toothing arrangement located at the peripheral outer edge of the flange plate to engage a mating toothing arrangement on the base plate and holding the base plate in a non-rotatable position. The second rotational position causes the toothing arrangement in the flange plate to disengage the toothing arrangement in the base plate allowing the base plate to rotate.
