摘要： Peritoneal dialysis systems and methods are provided by the present disclosure. In a general embodiment, a peritoneal dialysis system includes a peritoneal dialysis fluid supply, a supply line in fluid communication with the peritoneal dialysis fluid supply and terminating at a supply connector, a patient connector in fluid communication with a patient's indwelling catheter, a device configured to connect the supply connector to the patient connector without a user having to physically contact the supply connector or the patient connector, and a housing placeable around the connecting device and including a plurality of ultraviolet (“UV”) light-emitting diodes (“LED's”) positioned to direct energy towards at least one of the supply connector and the patient connector.

摘要： A composition of human neutrophil precursor cells is disclosed wherein at least 16% of the cells are human myeloblasts and promyelocytes. The myeloblasts and promyelocytes are derived from human neutrophil progenitor cells that were obtained from peripheral blood, bone marrow or cord blood. The neutrophil precursor cells contain less than 5% colony forming units. Also disclosed are human neutrophil precursor cells made up of about 16% CD15+CD11b- cells and less than 5% colony forming units and methods of preparing these compositions.

In one way of quickly treating the patients, software is used to calculate a suitable peritoneal dialysis prescription without regard to how short or how long a dialysis cycle is used, and without regard to a total dialysate fluid volume for a therapy. For patients with suitable peritoneal membrane transport properties, the software program suggests that, at least over a short period of time, unexpectedly high ultrafiltrate volumes and high clearances may be achieved.

In a general embodiment, a peritoneal dialysis system includes a cycler, a disposable cassette operable with the cycler, a supply bag connected to the disposable cassette, a supply connector, a supply line extending from the disposable cassette, a patient connector in fluid communication with a patient's indwelling catheter, a device to connect the supply connector to the patient connector, and a housing around the device. The housing includes a plurality of ultraviolet (“UV”) light-emitting diodes (“LED's”) for directing energy towards at least one of the supply or patient connectors. The LED's are configured to deliver about 200 milliJoules in a period of about a minute.

The medical treatment provided to the patient can be changed in response to analysis of the patient medical data at the remote location.
