The inventive PSA comprises the free-radical polymerization reaction product prepared in the presence of a free-radical initiator and dispersed in organic solvent of between about 0.5% and 10%, by weight of the non-volatile solids of the reaction product, of an organic solvent soluble, high ethylene-containing polymer; and a mixture of ethylenically-unsaturated monomers. Such mixture of monomers comprises between 0% and not substantially above about 10%, by weight of the non-volatile solids of the reaction product, of an ethylenically-unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride; and the balance being a non-carboxyl/non-anhydride-functional vinyl monomer or mixture of monomers. The T.sub.g of the polymerized mixture of monomers is not substantially above about -20.degree. C. The polymerization reaction product has a molecular weight which ranges from between about 100,000 and 600,000 and a T.sub.g not substantially above about -20.degree. C. Optionally, the reaction product can be cross-linked with an aluminum, titanium, or zirconium salt or chelate. Also, the reaction product can be cross-linked with a melamine resin. A preferred reaction product comprises ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer grafted with a mixture of monomers comprising acrylic acid, methyl methacrylate, isobornyl methacrylate, and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate. The reaction product additionally may contain unreacted components including the high ethylene-containing polymer, and one or more of the mixture of ethylenically-unsaturated monomers.

    • The present invention is based on the unexpected discovery that the low profile additives (LPA) disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,116,917 provide effective shrinkage control when used with various blends of vinyl ester and polyester resin systems. This LPA is unique in that its low profile efficiency is not affected by the different reactivities displayed by blends of vinyl ester resin and polyester resin at different blend ratios. This LPA is equally effective in formulations of all vinyl ester resin, all polyester resin, or any combination of such two resins. The present invention, then, is directed to a thermosettable resinous composition of between about 0 and 95 wt-% of a thermosettable vinyl ester resin; between about 5 and 100 wt-% of a thermosettable polyester resin; and between about 5 and 40 wt-% of a low profile additive comprising a non-gelling, saturated polyester formed from dibasic acid and an EO/PO block copolymer having an EO/PO molar ratio ranging from about 0.1 to 0.9, said polyester having an acid value of greater than about 10. The EO/PO polyether polyol can be built on a combination of diol, triol or other compound with active hydrogen groups, so long as the LPA product does not gel.

    • The conventional wye (where the clean regenerated catalyst returns from the regenerator to contact the feed as it enters the riser) is replaced with two or more wyes, all connected between the regenerator outlet and the inlet to a common short cracking riser. Each wye has a separate injector which can inject; e.g., diesel oil, so that neat (unmixed) diesel contacts clean catalyst and the mixture rises up a smaller riser before entering a short main riser where the largely cracked mixture is admixed with similar cat-vacuum bottoms, etc. mixtures from the other wyes. Most cracking occurs before entering the common riser so the effect is similar to a riser cracker operating on a single unmixed feed.

    • Improved catalytic process for carrying out heavy hydrocarbon conversion in the presence of metal on the catalyst and in the feedstock, by catalytic cracking such heavy carbometallic oils to lighter molecular weight fractions. The discovery of a ferro/superparamagnetic component of older catalyst, which when present, can be employed to achieve enhanced magnetic separation of aged catalyst. This invention utilizes this property to enhance separation of more magnetically active, older, less catalytically active and selective, higher metals-containing catalyst particulates from less magnetically active, lower metal containing particulates. The more catalytically active and selective catalysts fractions, are then recycled back to the process.
