    • A structure of a device for affixing a tire constituting cord on a core having an outer surface shape corresponding to an inner surface shape of a product tire is simplified and time for affixing operation is reduced. A cord affixing device (1) includes a frame (2), a motor (3), manipulators (4A), (4B), and a moving mechanism (5). The manipulators (4A), (4B) are capable of approaching to/separating from each other in the longitudinal direction of the frame (2) by the motor (3). At the tip ends of the manipulators (4A), (4B), finger chucks (10A), (10B) for holding the cord and pressing members (11A), (11B) for pressing the both ends of the cord (C) onto a bead molding portion are provided. The both ends of the cord (C) cut to a given length are held by the finger chucks (10A), (10B), and the cord (C) is affixed from a tread molding portion of the core (21) to the direction of the bead molding portion along the meridian while a tension is applied in the longitudinal direction.

The device comprises: a conveyer belt; a let-off roller on which the conveyer belt runs and from which the rubber tape is let off; a traverser to move the let-off roller in an X-axis direction parallel to the rotational axis of the object; a radial shifter to move the let-off roller in a Y-axis direction perpendicular to the X-axis direction; a tilter to turn the rotational axis of the let-off roller around a reference axis which is parallel to a Z-axis direction perpendicular to the X-axis direction and Y-axis direction. The conveyer belt is provided with a substantially straight part extending for a certain distance from the let-off roller to the upstream side thereof at a substantially constant inclination angle theta of more than 0 but not more than 70 degrees with respect to a reference plane including the rotational axis of the let-off roller and the rotational axis of the object.

    • A system for manufacturing an elastomeric tire utilizing a separate formation of a package having a tire core shape and containing tire belts, plies and beads. The package is formed by a laying up of layers of pre-cure elastomer intradigitated with sections of porous fabric, where the fabric fibers are placed at desired crossing angles to one another, and the pre-cure elastomer layers are positioned therebetween as a sandwich, with the sandwich then cold rolled into the tire core shape. Inelastic hoop shaped beads are fitted to and encapsulated in the tire core side walls ends and, as required, an inelastic belt is fitted around the tire core tread area that is secured thereto as by cold rolling a layer of pre-cure elastomer thereover, completing the tire core package. The tire core package is fitted into a mold, preferably a spin casting mold, and is supported therein equidistant from the mold cavity walls to receive an elastomer sprayed therein as the mold is spun. During spinning, the exothermic heat of reaction of the sprayed elastomer constituents as is generated as they are mixed and sprayed into the mold, completes the cure of the pre-cure elastomer, providing a homogenous finished tire with the belts, plies and beads optimally positioned therein.
