    • Chimeric proteins are expressed, secreted or released by a bacterium to immunize against or treat a parasite, infectious disease or malignancy. The delivery vector may also be attenuated, non-pathogenic, low pathogenic, or a probiotic bacterium. The chimeric proteins include chimeras of, e.g., phage coat and/or colicin proteins, bacterial toxins and/or enzymes, autotransporter peptides, lytic peptides, multimerization domains, and/or membrane transducing (ferry) peptides. The active portion of the immunogenic chimeric proteins can include antigens against a wide range of parasites and infectious agents, cancers, Alzheimer's and Huntington's diseases, and have enhanced activity when secreted or released by the bacteria, and/or have direct anti-parasite or infectious agent activity. The activity of the secreted proteins is further increased by co-expression of a protease inhibitor that prevents degradation of the effector peptides. Addition of an antibody binding or antibody-degrading protein further prevents the premature elimination of the vector and enhances the immune response.

    • A floating oxygenation circulator platform (OCP) is disclosed employing sub-vortex induction means to initiate numerous, gentle yet complex, tumbling, swirling, rolling, roiling or rotating sub-vortices spreading outward on the liquid surface. The circulator platform itself sets in motion a non-turbulent, high efficiency, bottom to top, primary toroidal vortex flow. Varied sub-vortex induction means, mounted on, made part of, attached to, extending out from or placed around the body of the circulator platform, induce sub-vortices to increase the surface exposure of the liquid and its contents, including microbes, nutrients and large molecules, to atmospheric oxygen and UV sunlight. The OCP and its sub-vortex induction means taken together act in the manner of a Rotating Inverse Biological Contactor (RIBC), labeled “inverse” because the liquid itself rotates and tumbles its contents into direct contact with the atmosphere and sunlight, in contrast to RBC devices where solid disks rotate in and out of a liquid.

    • The present invention relates to detergent compositions comprising an enzyme preparation with substantial cellulytic activity, especially endoglucanase activity, at alkaline conditions which is enzyme composition is derived from or producible by a fungus selected from the Basidiomycetous families Coprinaceae and Bolbitiaceae, preferably from the group of strains belonging to the genera Psathyrella, Podaxis, Panaeolus, Coprinus and Bolbitius, more preferably from the group of strains belonging to the species Coprinus micaceus, Coprinus domesticus, Coprinus ephemerus, Coprinus disseminatus, Coprinus radians, Coprinus picaceus, Coprinus frisei, Coprinus subimpatiens, Psathyrella candolleana, Psathyrella prona, Panaeolus semiovatus, Podaxis pistillaris and Bolbitius aleuriatus; and a method for providing a stone-washed look to textiles, especially to cellulosic fabric such as denim, using the mentioned enzyme preparation; and a method for improving the drainage of paper pulp or the de-inking of recycled paper using the mentioned enzyme preparation; and an enzyme preparation with substantial cellulytic activity at alkaline conditions which is enzyme composition is derived from or producible by a fungus selected from the Basidiomycetous families Coprinaceae and Bolbitiaceae, provided that the fungus does not belong to the species Coprinus cinereus.
