    • A fishing mitt is provided for keeping the hand of a fisher warm while maintaining sensitivity on a fishing rod. The mitt has a shell and insulating lining configured with a size and shape to encircle the hand of a fisher. A first opening is provided through which a user may dispose a hand within the mitt. The mitt includes a second opening near the outer end of the mitt which is adapted to snugly receive a fishing rod handle extending therethrough so that the hand of the fisher may grip the rod handle in direct contact. Protective end cover containing a fastener may be unfastened to allow access to the second opening or closed to cover the second opening when the mitt is not used in cooperation with a rod handle.

    • An antivibration glove includes a glove body with a front and back and a vibration dampener essentially disposed in the interior of the glove toward the palm side of the glove. The vibration dampener has at least a first layer composed of a viscoelastic material having a Shore 00 durometer of less than 50 and a rebound percentage of less than 20. Preferably the vibration dampener also includes second and third layers, coterminous with the first layer, which are composed of a foam material. The viscoelastic layer may have a non-uniform shape, such as precurved, tapered, or the like. In one embodiment the layer of viscoelastic material is relatively thicker near the glove palm area and ball of the thumb and relatively thinner adjacent the finger portion of the glove. The viscoelastic material may be creased to facilitate bending of the glove. The glove attenuates at least 40% of the applied vibration occurring in the range of from 200 Hz to 1250 Hz.

    • A puncture evident surgical glove having an integral indicator by which to visually and instantaneously alert the wearer of the need to re-glove should the structural integrity of the glove be compromised by a tear or puncture that could expose the wearer to a contagious and potentially life-threatening disease. Outer and inner membranes are spaced from one another around the finger area of the glove to define a hermetically sealed air inlet path. The indicator is a flexible, hemispherically shaped fluid reservoir (e.g. bulb) that is sandwiched between the outer and inner membranes and adapted to have either a relaxed, inflated condition at which the indicator bulb is filled with air or a compressed, evacuated condition at which air is expulsed from the indicator bulb to the atmosphere. The indicator bulb in the aforementioned compressed, evacuated condition is representative of the fact that the structural integrity of the surgical glove is intact and devoid of a compromising puncture wound or tear. However, should the finger area of the glove be punctured or torn whereby the air inlet path between the outer and inner membranes communicates with the atmosphere, the indicator bulb will automatically recover from the compressed, evacuated condition to the relaxed, inflated condition so as to warn the wearer of the need to remove and discard his glove.

    • Work gloves having a flexibility that is improved by the restriction of the degree of infiltration of the coating so as to produce a thin coating when the outer surface of a knit glove is covered with a coating made of vinyl chloride resin, rubber or the like, and subjected to an antimicrobial and/or deodorizing treatment by a facilitated manufacturing technique. Yarn processed by an antimicrobial and/or deodorizing agent and a water and/or oil repellent agent and non-processed yarn are combined together. A glove is knitted such that the processed yarn appears on the inner surface side of the glove, and the outer surface of the glove is coated with a coating material such as a vinyl chloride resin paste or natural rubber while the infiltration of the coating material into the inner surface is suppressed by the water and oil repellency. Thereby, a flexible coating is obtained, and the inside of the glove that comes into contact with a hand is subjected to an antimicrobial and/or deodorizing treatment.

    • A hockey glove comprising a hand protective section and a wrist protective section. The hand protective section has a palm portion, a thumb portion and finger portions interconnected by an inner fabric. An outer hand protective fabric structure is connected to the inner fabric and has a plurality of outer protective padded formations disposed over the hand portion, thumb portion and finger portions. The padded formations have an outer wear resistant cover. The padded formation disposed over each of the finger portions has at least two separated padded finger sections extending coextensively with each finger portion from an upper knuckle area of the finger portion to a finger ending. A flexible joint is defined at the upper knuckle area and between the two separated padded finger sections substantially at a mid-knuckle area of the finger portion. A narrow transverse flexible protective web of wear resistant material is secured in the joint areas to provide external protection at the joint areas when the finger portions are articulated to a clasped position by a wearer clasping the hand. The joints reduce pressure points in the hand protective section of the glove when a wearer's hand is clasped such as when gripping a hockey stick.
