摘要： A compensating deemphasis circuit is connected to a preemphasis circuit in series. The deemphasis circuit has the same characteristic as a deemphasis circuit provided in a playback system. An input signal and an output signal which are connected in series are supplied to a subtracter. The subtracter extracts a distortion component. This distortion component is overlapped to an output signal of the preemphasis circuit through a weight coefficient generating device. When the signal passes through the deemphasis circuit in the record and playback system and that in the playback system, the distortion component is canceled.

摘要： A MUSE encoder converts a HDTV signal into a MUSE signal and supplies the converted MUSE signal to a digital recording circuit 52 of a digital VTR. The supplied MUSE signal includes audio data and additional information, each being a ternary signal. A state of a ternary signal at one sampling point is discriminated by a ternary discrimination circuit 102, with the result thereof being indicated as a two-bit digital signal by a two-bit indicating circuit 103. Accordingly, the number of bits required for the audio data at one sampling point can be compressed from eight bits to two bits. In addition, by converting two successive discriminated results by the ternary discrimination circuit 102 into a binary signal by means of a ternary/binary converting circuit 104, the number of bits required at two sampling points can be reduced from 16 bits to three bits. As a result, a recording bit rate for the MUSE signal, to be digitally recorded on the magnetic tape, can be reduced.

摘要： A video signal processing apparatus which is adapted to a VTR (video tape recorder) and various other video players for processing a video signal so as to reduce noise. A video signal passed through a demodulator and a deemphasis circuit is input to a noise canceller circuit so as to remove most of the noise component thereof. The video signal is then provided with narrow and deep peaks at the respective rising transient portion and the breaking transient portion with bipolarity by an outline emphasizing circuit. Thus, smooth signal processing of the group delay characteristic is enabled in a wide frequency band, thereby producing a video signal having excellent sharpness and not including a strain such as overshoot or ringing.

The information signal reproducing apparatus of this invention is adapted to reproduce information signals from such a disc-shaped recording medium over which a plurality of concentric recording tracks are formed. This reproducing apparatus is arranged to suppress a predetermined high-band frequency component of an information signal to be reproduced in accordance with the position of the recording track on the recording medium from which the information signal is to be reproduced. Accordingly, it is possible to optimally reproduce the information signals on the recording medium, anywhere from the outer circumference to the inner circumference, without involving any influence of noise.
