    • A voltage distribution device for use especially in motor vehicles, includes a first area (2) made of conductive material and fitted with at least one electrical connection (8), at least two separate second areas (3, 4) made of conductive material and fitted with at least one electrical connection each (7), and bridge-like fuse areas (5, 6) made of conductive material, which each link the second areas (3, 4) with the first (2) and are inseparably connected to the first and associated second area. The bridge-like fuse areas (5, 6) each have a cross-section of material calibrated along a longitudinal section according to material thickness and/or depth. In another embodiment of the invention, in a voltage distribution device for use especially in motor vehicles, a first area (2) made of conductive material and with at least one electrical connection (8), and at least two second areas (3B) made of conductive material and with at least one electrical connection each (4), are linked by bridge-like fuse areas made of conductive material (3), whereby these fuses (3) are inseparably connected to the first area (2) by deep-draw sleeves (5).

    • A serviceable fused battery terminal comprising a disposable fused battery end containing a fuse link, the disposable fused battery end being initially integrated with a cable-connecting portion of the terminal which is secured to an electrical cable, for example by crimping in known manner. When the fuse blows, the battery end is removed from the cable-connecting end by breaking or separating it, while the cable-connecting end remains secured to the cable in its original fashion. A portion of the cable-connecting end is formed as a reattachment point for a replacement fused battery end 22, which is then secured to the remaining original cable-connecting end to create a new fused terminal. The inventive terminal allows for the easy replacement of blown fuses in the field without having to cut or otherwise remove the cable-connecting portion of the terminal from the cable.

    • A fuse box for motor vehicles includes a housing that is adapted to contain electrical fuses mounted to a common busbar for connecting one end of the fuses directly to a pole of an electric battery in the vehicle. The housing includes lateral surfaces for providing torsional protection to the fuses against twisting or bending when the nuts holding the fuses in place are tightened. Screening zones are defined in the housing for screening off fusable portions of the fuses so that melted material is prevented from migrating into the housing beyond the screening zone where the melted material may cause damage. Mechanical coding structures are provided in the housing to ensure that only cable terminals having a shape corresponding to the coding structures can be installed in selected regions of the fuse box. This prevents inadvertent misuse of cross-connection of cables having inadequate or excessive current carrying capacity. A removable intermediary bottom member carries the lateral surfaces, screening zones and other mechanical coding structures so that the subject fuse box can be easily reconfigured.

    • An electrical power distribution module for use with an automotive vehicle electrical system is adapted to be mounted on the top surface of a standard automotive lead-acid storage battery and connect with a battery terminal extending therefrom. The power distribution module includes a battery post connecting assembly for housing a terminal connector for making electrical connections with the battery terminal and alternator and starter cables, a fuse block for receiving a plurality of fuses associated with separate vehicle electrical circuits, and a harness guide channel for routing a plurality of wires which connect the fuses with their associated circuits. The power distribution module is mounted to lay flat on top of the battery's upper surface with the battery terminal extending upwardly into the module to be engaged by the battery terminal connector. The module does not extend substantially above the highest point of the battery terminal, nor does it extend laterally substantially outside of the battery perimeter. A cover is attached to the power distribution module and has hinged sections which may be opened to provide access to the battery terminal connector and the fuse receptacles.
