摘要： The present invention relates to a system and method for taking out medicines, wherein a robot unit is used to take out a medicine, which corresponds to medicine information received from a medicine information providing unit, from a medicine storage unit and to move the medicine to a predetermined position, so that a pharmacist can be conveniently provided with the medicine to be used for preparation. To this end, a system for taking out medicines according to the present invention comprises a medicine storage unit for storing medicines; a medicine information providing unit for transmitting at least one piece of medicine information; a storage portion for storing medicine information on the medicines stored in the medicine storage unit as well as position information on the medicines; and a robot unit for taking out a corresponding medicine from the medicine storage unit and moving the taken-out medicine to a predetermined position if the storage portion has stored medicine information which is identical to medicine information received from the medicine information providing unit.

摘要： A pill dispensing system includes a shelving unit in array form that holds a number of bulk containers, each holding a bulk amount of a pill to be dispensed. A computer controlled robot removes a selected bulk container and places it on a counter that also dispenses pills. The robot has an arm with a free end portion that can grip a bulk container or a single pill bottle to be filled. The robot is computer controlled to retrieve an empty pill bottle, place it on a label printing and applying unit, then place it next to the counter/dispenser to receive the selected number of selected prescription pills, then place the filled, labeled bottle on a conveyor. In an alternate embodiment, pill bottles are dispensed from a dispenser that holds bottles on inclined plates and feeds them to a vertical dispensing channel. Gates prevent the flow of bottles from an inclined position until the plate above has been emptied.

摘要： This invention is a vending machine and components parts that include a sophisticated positioning system, gripper and trays for improved efficiency in product retrieval and delivery. Following product selection, the positioning system quickly transports the gripper through the X-Y plane to the front of a tray queue containing the selected product. The gripper is extended in the Z-direction, and its fingers grasp the foremost product container in the queue. The gripper then retracts, and the positioning system transports the gripper carrying the product container to a delivery port. The gripper then releases the product which slides down a chute into a delivery bucket that is then tilted outward for customer pick up. Unique product storage trays are provided which work in conjunction with the gripper to allow only the foremost product to be removed from a tray queue. A specially designed door is provided to accommodate the X-Y positioning system. A unique cabinet is also provided that includes an adjustable ventilation system, and a conveniently located compact, easily removable modular climate control unit. Related methods are also disclosed.
