    • An image forming agent storage device includes an image forming agent storage body that is inserted into an insertion part, an opening-and-closing member, an engagement mechanism and an engagement release prevention mechanism. The image forming agent storage body is formed with a discharge port. The engagement mechanism includes an engagement part being provided in the image forming agent storage body and an engaged part being provided in the opening-and-closing member and being capable of engaging with the engagement part. The engagement release prevention mechanism prevents that a state where the engagement part and the engaged part can engage with each other is released due to an event that a front side of the opening-and-closing member moves relative to the image forming agent storage body so as to slant in a direction away from a position where the engagement part and the engaged part are provided.

    • A developer supplying apparatus of the present invention includes a toner bottle, a bottle supporting member that is in the shape of substantially a cylinder, and a shutter mechanism for opening and closing a toner discharging opening formed on the bottle supporting member. The shutter mechanism includes (i) a shutter member which is slidably provided on the bottle supporting member and opens/closes the toner discharging opening, and (ii) a protruding portion which is provided on the toner bottle, and when the shutter member is located at such a position that the toner discharging opening is closed, engages with a part of the shutter member so as to stop rotation of the toner bottle. Thus, it is possible to realize the developer supplying apparatus which can stably supply a toner to a development device at high speed.

The supporting structure includes a shutter opening and closing mechanism having a shutter element that is movable along a fixed direction to open and close the toner feed aperture. This shutter opening and closing mechanism in the supporting structure is formed with an anti-slide portion for restraining the movement of the shutter element before the toner container is mounted to the toner feed device.

    • A switching mechanism for a toner cartridge includes a base and a sliding member. The base is mounted to a housing. A chamber is defined between the housing and the base for receiving the sliding member. The base has a guiding slot. The sliding member has a body received in the chamber, a suspension arm extending from the body, a hook disposed on the suspension arm, and a post extending from the suspension arm and received in the guiding slot. When the sliding member is moved to different positions, an outlet of the toner cartridge can be closed or opened. The post moves along the guiding slot to cause an elastic deformation of the suspension arm for changing the position of the hook such that an erroneous operation of the switching mechanism can be avoided, and a mold for the switching mechanism is easy to manufacture to reduce the manufacturing costs.
