摘要： A nonwoven web of thermoplastic filaments is thermally bonded by conveying the web on a rotating hollow cylindrical roll having a pervious surface and passing hot air through the web into the roll to heat the filaments to the bonding temperature. The web is restrained against the roll surface with a stationary porous fabric under pressure developed by flow of the hot air through the fabric. Means for adjusting the length of fabric in contact with the web, and for measuring tension on the fabric, are provided in the apparatus.

摘要： A device for shifting products to be dried on a perforated drying drum in order to increase the drying efficiency and to prevent the formation of a pattern of the drum holes on the same products, comprises a cylinder, having its longitudinal axis parallel to the axis of the drying drum, at a given distance which is adjustable. Said cylinder can be actuated by a side drive independently of the actuating system of said drum. When the diameter of said cylinder has been chosen, the distance from the drum surface can be varied in order to avoid the increase in the path of the product due the device becoming equal to the center distance between the drum holes or an integral multiple thereof. A plurality of these devices can be advantageously mounted on a drying drum.

摘要： This disclosure pertains to a multipass web-treating apparatus particularly adapted for drying a paper web. The web is transferred between passes or zones by turning rolls. A threading device associated with the dryer utilizes turning sheaves which are associated with each turning roll over which at least one threading rope or tape travels. A clutch is arranged to operatively associate each turning roll and turning sheave to transmit rotary motion from the sheave to the roll such that the peripheral speed of the roll is equal to or greater than the linear speed of the threading rope or tape. An attachment device is fixed to the tape to hook or unhook the end of a paper web to be threaded through the dryer.
