    • A lock device is achieved, which can prevent a battery, for supplying power to a microcomputer of an electronic control unit, from going flat by reducing the consumption power of the microcomputer, said lock device provided with a lock mechanism which holds an opening-and-closing body, for an opening in a vehicle body, an electronic control unit which operates in a microcomputer normal power mode or a microcomputer power-saving mode; and an open-state detector which detects the state of the lock mechanism. The electronic control unit transfers from the microcomputer normal power mode to the microcomputer power-saving mode when the open-state detector detects that the lock mechanism continuously remains at one of the opening state, the half-latched state and the fully-latched state for a predetermined period of time when operating during the microcomputer normal power mode.

    • The present invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock and more specifically, to a sensor for detecting the current locking state of a motor vehicle door lock. The motor vehicle door lock of the present invention includes lock elements which further include a latch and a ratchet. The latch and the ratchet are each able to be moved into a main catch position. The latch is able to be locked in the main catch position by the ratchet. The door lock also includes a sensor for monitoring a current locking state, wherein the latch and the ratchet are coupled to the sensor such that reaching the main catch position by the latch only together with reaching the main catch position by the ratchet causes triggering of the sensor. The door lock also includes a mechanical actuating element which can be moved out of a starting position associated to the sensor, wherein both the latch and the ratchet are coupled to the actuating element to act on the actuating element.

    • An electric door lock system is disclosed which comprises an electric actuator which moves an output member in first and second directions selectively, a door locking mechanism which moves a latch plate of a door lock device proper from its half-latched position to its full-latched position when the output member is moved in the first direction, a lock cancelling mechanism which cancels the locked condition of the latch plate when the output member is moved in the second direction, a lock cancelling switch means incorporated with an inside or outside handle of the door, which operates in response to manipulation of the handle, a locking and unlocking switch means which operates when locking and unlocking of the door are required, a half-latched condition sensor which senses that the latch plate has come to the half-latched position from its open position, and a control means which functions so that when, with the door lock device proper being in its unlocked condition, the lock cancelling switch means is manipulated, the output member is moved in the second direction thereby to allow the latch plate to pivot toward its open position and when the half-latched condition sensor senses the reaching of the door to the half-latched position, the output member is moved in the first direction thereby to cause the latch plate from the half-latched position to the full-latched position.
