    • An aircraft storage bin that includes a latch system that includes a pivot plate assembly, a mounting plate assembly and a latch button assembly. The pivot plate assembly includes a pivot plate attached to the bucket, a latch arm that is pivotally connected to the pivot plate and is pivotal between latched and unlatched positions, and a latch pawl that is pivotal between latched and unlatched positions. A latch activator is secured to the latch arm, which includes a roller member. The latch pawl includes hook and roller receiver portions. In the latched position, the roller member is received in the roller receiver portion. The mounting plate assembly includes a mounting plate to which the pivot plate is pivotally connected and a striker that is received in the hook portion when the bucket is in the closed position. Movement of the button from the home position to the actuation position moves the latch activator, which pivots the latch arm to the unlatched position, the roller member is released from the roller receiver portion and the latch pawl pivots to the unlatched position and releases the striker from the hook portion.

    • A versatile operating mechanism for a two-point latch or lock includes a "front" module having a flush-mountable handle and housing assembly that can be connected by simple fasteners to a "rear" module having a mounting bracket that movably supports linkage including an operating arm A pair of latch assemblies are connected to and operated by the mounting-bracket-mounted linkage. In preferred practice, rotary latch assemblies are used that each employs a single rotary jaw that is releasably retained in its latched position by a rotary pawl, with the latch having a pair of spaced housing side plates that sandwich the rotary jaw and the rotary pawl, with the side plates defining aligned first and second U-shaped notches that cooperate with a third U-shaped notch formed in the rotary jaw for concurrently receiving and latchingly retaining within the confines of the first, second and third U-shaped notches a suitably configured strike formation, with housing side plate portions that define a selected one of the first and second U-shaped notches being rigidified and strengthened by the close proximity presence of a flange 1) that is formed integrally with side plate portions that define the selected notch and 2) that extends transversely to bridge between the housing side plates at a location near the first and second U-shaped notches. The operating mechanism may be "locked" by positioning a movable locking member to extend into a path of movement of the operating arm to selectively permit and prevent movement of the operating arm along a path of movement.

    • A power door lock device comprises a latch plate pivotal about a first axis to assume an open position, a half-latch position and a full-latch position; a sub-lever pivotal about a second axis which is in parallel with the first axis; and a close lever pivotal about the second axis. The sub-lever has an engaged edge and is pivotally connected through a link to the latch plate, so that when the sub-lever is pivotal about the second axis to assume first, second and third angular positions, the latch plate takes the open position, half-latch and full-latch positions respectively. The close lever has an engaging edge which, when the close lever is pivoted from an inoperative position to an operative position, is brought into abutment with the engaged edge of the sub-lever to pivot the sub-lever from the second position to the third position. An electric drive device is used for forcing the close lever to pivot between the inoperative and operative positions. The latch plate, the link and the sub-plate are so arranged that the second angular position of said sub-lever is positioned near the first angular position of the same as close as possible.
