摘要： A sewing cartridge includes a housing case and an openable cover. The housing case has a housing area for accommodating a thread therein, and the openable cover has a thread holding mechanism for holding the thread supplied from the housing area. In the sewing cartridge, the housing case is movable with respect to the openable cover. While the thread supplied from the housing area is hold, the sewing cartridge is attached to a sewing apparatus. In this state, when the housing case is moved up and down with respect to the openable cover, a predetermined length of the thread can be drawn from the housing area while the thread holding mechanism holds the thread with an adequate holding strength.

摘要： A needle thread restraining device in a thread cutting sewing machine comprising a needle thread restraining device 18 which is disposed on a needle thread path between a needle take-up mechanism (5) and a needle thread supplying source (6) for setting the tension of the needle thread 4 to substantially zero when the thread cutting mechanism (9) does not operate and to a given value when the thread cutting mechanism (9) operates, and a tension nullification means 31 for setting the tension applied by a tension regulator (10) to a given value when the thread cutting mechanism (9) does not operate and for nullifying the tension applied by the tension regulator when the thread cutting mechanism operates. The amount of the needle thread to be drawn under the work can be set properly and independently, nullifying of the tension set by the tension discs when the sewing thread is cut by the thread cutting mechanism. Accordingly, the needle thread restraining device in a thread cutting sewing machine of the present invention has an effect that the needle thread, which remains at the needle side and the work side after the completion of cutting of the sewing thread, can be set to have the necessary and sufficient length with ease and accuracy irrespective of the kind of works, the state of seams and the kind of needle thread.

摘要： A thread tensioning device comprising a stationary electromagnet mounted on a sewing machine arm and a tensioning wheel having a relatively low mass. The tensioning wheel is rotatable concentric to a longitudinal axis of the electromagnet and is mounted on the electromagnet so as to be moveable only slightly in the direction of the longitudinal axis. A friction disk is positioned at one end of the electromagnet so as to be between the electromagnet and the tensioning wheel. A current flows through an excitation winding in the electromagnet and its value is varied within given limits by a suitable current control device, thereby causing the electromagnet to pull a flat side of the tensioning wheel with corresponding force against an application side of the friction disk, whereby a corresponding variable thread tensioning force is applied to a sewing thread passing through the tensioning wheel to the sewing machine.

Several pneumatic cylinders are combined into groups, which are selectively controllable by compressed air valves and a selector switch. Due to the special construction of the pneumatic cylinders, there is obtained a cost-saving tensioning device for generating a tensile stress in a material.

To obtain a very short closing path, the helical spring has in the region of the respective thread pull-off path windings whose mutual distance is greater than in the other regions. The helical spring is compressible by a setting drive for the fixed clamping of the threads.

摘要： A thread shield, for a sewing machine having means to interrupt needle bar reciprocation and a take-up with a threading slot to an eyelet thereof, to discourage thread escape from the eyelet or double threading of the eyelet by loose, slung around thread. The sewing machine take-up moves in an up and down path from an uppermost position, where thread may be drawn to the eyelet by way of the threading slot, to a lower position where appreciable slack thread forms when the needle bar reciprocation is interrupted. At the position where appreciable slack thread forms, the take-up moves closely adjacent to an upstanding rib which overlaps the entry to the threading slot thus to deter thread loops from reentering the threading slot. The forward surface of the upstanding rib is tapered in a horizontal plane towards the take-up lever to impede thread, which might otherwise move from the eyelet rearwardly down the threading slot to the threading slot entry. The forward surface of the upstanding rib is also curved in a vertical plane to form a minimum angle of 90.degree. with the projection of the top surface of the take-up lever on the vertical plane, to discourage a loop of thread slung about the take-up from being drawn back during the up stroke of the take-up to a position where it will re-enter the threading slot to double thread or unthread the take-up.
