摘要： In a process and apparatus for printing on flat individual articles such as CDs by means of offset printing, the surface to be printed upon and the offset printing cylinder which is rolled against the article are adjusted relative to each other to produce a pressure effect which is favorable to transfer of the print image on to the article in order to compensate for differences in thickness between the individual articles. When adjusting the printing cylinder and the surface to be printed upon relative to each other, the radial position of transfer surfaces at the periphery of the printing cylinder may, if necessary, be taken into account. In the absence of an article in the printing station, it is possible to provide a replacement article in the form of a web of material, on to which the print image intended for the missing article is transferred from the printing cylinder. The plate cylinders may also be adjusted relative to the offset printing cylinder in such a way as to permit adaptation to the radial position of the transfer surfaces at the periphery of the printing cylinder.

摘要： A method for printing soft resin in which a composite printing material containing PVC-pasteresin, plasticizer, epoxy oil, titan dioxide BC complex, stabilizer, Hi-Sil 244, pigment, etc. is employed. The gelation temperature of such composite printing material is reduced to be within 150.degree.-160.degree. C. The composite printing material of different colors are sequentially applied to separate matrixes in several times depending on number of colors to be printed. Article to be printed with a desired pattern is positioned beneath the matrixes. Each time the printing material is applied, it is dried and then cooled so that it forms color fast and lasting pattern on the article.

摘要： For printing fine patterns, a fine pattern of a setting type ink is applied to a printing plate surface to become printing elements. Then, the setting type ink thus applied on the printing plate is subjected to a setting treatment thereby to set at least one part of the ink pattern, and thereafter the printing plate and an object to be printed are pressed relatively against each other thereby to transfer the ink pattern onto the print object. The printing plate can be an intaglio plate or a lithographic plate. Fine patterns of printing element widths as fine as 3 .mu.m with an ink film thickness of 2 .mu.m can be printed efficiently with the high precision on various objects including hard and rigid objects.

摘要： Disclosed are inks containing compounds of the formula: ##STR1## where --R.sup.1 is --H or --CH.sub.3--R.sup.2 is an aliphatic, preferably linear hydrocarbyl, radical having 11-23 carbon atoms and containing at least one olefinic double bond, or mixtures thereof, -R.sup.2 being free of terminal double bonds, and--X-- is either (a) --OR.sup.3 O-- in which R.sup.3 is an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon residue containing from 2 to 10 carbon atoms, or (b) --O(CH.sub.2 CHR.sup.4 O).sub.n -- where R.sup.4 is --H or --CH.sub.3 and n is an integer of from 2-10, or mixtures thereof.Preferably, --X-- is --OR.sup.3 O-- wherein R.sup.3 is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- or ##STR2## --R.sup.1 is --CH.sub.3, and --R.sup.2 is a mixture of hydrocarbyl moieties derived from drying oils and is at least in part polyunsaturated, and more preferably, predominantly so. The products are oxidatively curable reactive diluents of exceptionally low viscosity and low volatility which are useful for the preparation of high solids lithographic inks to reduce atmospheric pollution caused by volatile non-reactive solvents. In addition to compounds of the given formula, other esters of drying oil fatty acids with various addition-polymerizable olefinically unsaturated hydroxyl-containing compounds are disclosed. Another way of describing the preferred reactive diluents of the invention is to define them as the mixed esters of a polyol with (1) mixed material drying oil fatty acids and (2) an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated acid.

摘要： A duplicator system and method are provided for preparing a lithographic master and for producing duplicated copies from the master in a fully automated system. An ink and moisture system is provided for supplying ink and moisture to a master on a master cylinder. During a pre-inking phase, an ink ductor roller is operative for a predetermined duration within variable ranges, as determined by the number of duplicated copies to be reproduced, and a moisture roller is operative to transmit moisture to the inking system. An early moisture circuit is also provided for conditioning the system by supplying moisture prior to a pre-inking phase in those instances wherein there has been a significant delay between the processing of two consecutive masters. Control means including a sensing device is provided for sensing the ambient temperature at an ink fountain and providing an indication thereof at predetermined temperature values. Subsequent to the pre-inking phase and during a normal duplicating operation, in response to an indication of the sensed temperature, the speed of transfer of ink from the ink fountain to the ink form roller is automatically controlled by altering the movement of the ink ductor roller, i.e. by interrupting the ducting action of the ductor roller for preselected time intervals. Thus, as the viscosity of the ink changes in response to the temperature, the control means is effective to vary the ducting pattern of the ink ductor roller such that an amount of ink substantially suited to the temperature situation is applied to the master.
