摘要： The arrangement of the disclosure comprises a filter unit having an upper, inlet chamber and a lower, outlet chamber. A hydrophilic filter separates the upper chamber from the lower chamber and a lower placed hydrophobic filter or membrane separates the lower chamber and the upper chamber. A liquid reservoir is provided in the first chamber between the filter and membrane, and a gas reservoir is provided in the second chamber between the filter and membrane.A liquid admitted to the upper, inlet chamber with a forward differential pressure, that is with the pressure in the upper chamber larger than that in the lower chamber, will flow through the upper hydrophilic filter into the lower chamber. If any gas accumulates it cannot accumulate above the level of the lower hydrophobic membrane. Accordingly no gas flows out of the lower, outlet chamber in the forward direction. If there is a reverse differential pressure, reverse liquid flow is prevented by the hydrophobic membrane and by air trapped above the lower hydrophobic filter against the upper, wet hydrophilic filter. If liquid supply to the upper chamber fails and a forward pressure differential exists between the chambers, forward gas flow is prevented by the wet upper hydrophilic filter and the liquid trapped above the hydrophobic filter. Therefore the unit filters the liquid flow, vents gas in the outlet chamber to the inlet chamber, prevents forward gas flow, and prevents reverse liquid flow.

The reduced pressure source applies the reduced pressure to the tissue site through the plurality of lumens such that the at least one collection lumen receives fluid from the tissue site. The at least one collection lumen stores the fluid received from the tissue site.

摘要： Disclosed is a disposable needle filter apparatus with a universal truncated syringe-receiving neck to enable the filtration of fluids/solutions aspirated into a needle-bearing syringe. The apparatus includes a needle seal stopper and needle stop to create a substantially airtight chamber to facilitate fluid aspiration through an enclosed filter and into the syringe. In an alternative embodiment, the filter apparatus includes an extended syringe-receiving neck configured to receive a specifically sized syringe/needle combination. In a further embodiment, the receiving neck is constructed as a modular unit to allow for interchangeable necks to accommodate different needle and syringe sizes with different cross-sectional diameters. In a yet further embodiment, the neck is constructed with stepped tapered segments of serially larger cross-sectional diameters to accommodate differently sized syringes. In a still further embodiment, the apparatus includes an accessory needle secured to the apparatus inlet.

Some devices include a resistance component for controllably deploying an injection needle through the eye wall. The resistance component may be disposed on the injector device, or on a portion of the injection device housing, or on a drug reservoir. Some devices may be removably attached to a drug reservoir, for example, through a luer connector. Other devices may comprise internal luer seal for securely connecting a drug conduit of the device to the luer cavity of a drug reservoir. Yet other devices may comprise a priming-enabling element to facilitate the drug priming of a shielded needle. Related methods and systems comprising the devices are also described.

摘要： Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to equalizing pressure in a reservoir containing fluidic media, possibly due to imperfect installation of the reservoir or an external influence such as an altitude or a temperature change. In various embodiments, fluidic media may be expelled from the reservoir through a needle and contained in an interior volume of a pierceable member before the needle pierces the pierceable member to establish a flow path to a user. In other embodiments, fluidic media may be expelled through a port of the reservoir into a chamber or to the outside environment. In further embodiments, fluidic media may be expelled through a channel in a plunger head and out a passage in the reservoir when the channel and passage are aligned. In other embodiments, fluidic media may be expelled through a valve, and the valve may be pierceable by a needle to establish a flow path to the user.
