    • An embroidery sewing machine is disclosed in which a workpiece cloth is moved so that an embroidery pattern is formed on it. The embroidery sewing machine includes a plurality of types of embroidery frames differing in a size and/or a shape from each other and holding the workpiece cloth, the embroidery frames being selectively used, a carriage, a moving mechanism moving the carriage independently in two directions perpendicular to each other, a frame holder to which the embroidery frames are selectively attached, the frame holder including a holder body fixed to the carriage and a movable holder mounted to one of a plurality of positions corresponding to the respective types of the embroidery frames relative to the holder body so that the position of the movable holder is exchangeable, a detector detecting a position of the movable holder relative to the holder body, and a determining unit determining the type of the embroidery frame based on a result of detection by the detector.

    • A curved workpiece fabric holder device which holds a cup-shaped or cylindrical workpiece at a position around a cylinder bed. The cylinder bed contains therein a loop taker which co-operates with a sewing needle. The holder device includes a base frame movable in an extending direction of the cylinder bed, a rotary frame rotatably supported by the base frame and positioned around the cylinder bed, a retainer retaining therein the workpiece and detachably installed over the rotary frame. Normally, the rotary frame is rotated in accordance with a movement of a fabric feed frame. A fixed segment is fixed to the fabric feed frame, and a movable segment is movably and position-fixably supported to the fixed segment. A wire is looped around the rotary frame and each end of the wire is fixed to each end of the movable segment. By unfastening the movable segment from the fixed segment, the movable segment is disconnected from the fabric feed frame. With this state, by moving the movable segment relative to the fixed segment, a rotational point of origin of the rotary frame is adjusted.

    • A bumper structure for a vehicle includes a bumper reinforce secured to a body of the vehicle and a bumper fascia extending along and covering the bumper reinforce. The bumper reinforce has a front vertical wall portion having a first opening, a horizontal upper wall portion and a horizontal bottom wall portion. A first flange extends from an edge of the first opening toward the body and has an engaging portion which is bent toward the first opening. A second flange extends from the edge of the first opening toward the body and is spaced from the first flange to have a certain space therebetween. A third flange extends from the bumper fascia toward the bumper reinforce, and in so sized as to be inserted into the first opening and to be tightly interposed between the first and second flangers. The third flange has a second opening for receiving therein the engaging portion of the first flange. A fourth flange extends from the bumper fascia toward the bumper reinforce and is so sized as to be in abutment with the front vertical wall portion of the bumper reinforce when the third flange is inserted into the first opening until the second opening receives the engaging portion.
