    • The present invention provides a method and system for preventing unsolicited bulk email (UBE). Spammers sending UBE typically capitalize on the weakness of SMTP. The present invention affixes a subscriber key value to the local part of an email address. The email and associated key value are sent to a server where the subscriber key value, and subscriber and recipient email addresses are associated and stored into a database. Once stored, the email is sent to the ultimate recipient. A recipient is in possession of a subscriber key value can use this key value to sign an email they intend to send to the original subscriber/sender. Recipient will then send this signed email to a server where the association between the subscriber and the subscriber key value is verified. Once verified the email is sent to the subscriber. In some embodiments, the verification process is not controlled by a server.

    • A keyless entry touch pad system for a vehicle includes a substrate with a plurality of touch zones disposed on one surface of the substrate, and a plurality of electrode patterns disposed on the opposite surface. An inner electrode of each pattern is aligned with one of the touch zones. Each pattern is electrically coupled to an integrated control circuit, which outputs a signal to and energizes the electrodes of the pattern such that electric fields emanates therefrom. The electrode patterns may be capacitively coupled to the integrated control circuit. When the electric field of the inner electrode is disturbed by a stimulus proximate the corresponding touch zone, the component is activated. Upon activation of the components in a predetermined sequence, a controller causes the vehicle door to unlock. A method of unlocking a vehicle is also disclosed.

    • The invention is a portable display such a name badge for presenting removable inserts which carry indicia such as letters providing personal information related to the bearer of the display. The display includes a base panel having a front and a rear and a face panel overlying the base panel and having at least one window through which the indicia are visible. A recess between the base panel and the face panel receives and locates therein the plurality of removable inserts carrying the indicia. The rear of the base panel has an access aperture such as a slot in communication with the recess through which the inserts can be selectively inserted and removed. Each insert is made of a flexible and resilient material, the flexibility allowing deformation of the insert upon insertion through the access aperture into the one recess and upon removal of the insert, the resilience enabling the insert to return at least partially to its original shape upon being fully inserted through the access aperture into its desired final position in the recess.
