摘要： When the user designates the reproduction of searching audio data, the designated searching audio data and audio volume data are read from a searching data recording portion. The searching audio data is reproduced corresponding to the audio volume data. When the user designates the reproduction of main audio data, the selected audio data is read from a disc and reproduced. In addition, number-of-reproduction-times data, audio volume data, audio quality data, and time period data for the designated main audio data that are updated in the searching data storing portion. The searching audio data corresponding to the designated main audio data is read from the disc corresponding to the audio quality data and the time period data and recorded to the searching data storing portion.

At a time of reproduction, the constituent bit [0] or [1] of the additional data is obtained by only detecting the parity of the recording frame.

摘要： Six record areas for predetermined data that has been encoded and digitally modulated are formed in a data record area on a disc. The record areas have different offset compensation amounts. The offset compensation amounts allow all offset amounts that may take place in an error correction code encoder to be compensated. Thus, regardless of the offset amount generated by the error correction code encoder, encoded and modulated data that has been generated by the conventional EFM modulating system and recorded in one of the record areas securely causes DSV to deviate. Each of the record areas is set to a sufficient length that allows the effect of which DSV deviates to be recognized.

摘要： A writable recording medium, an identification information recording method, an information recording apparatus, an identification information playback method, and an information playback apparatus capable of easily determining whether or not a disc is genuine or copied. A first disc ID played back from a PMA (program memory area) is read and a PA (program area) is played back to read a second disc ID recorded in the PA. If they correspond to each other, a disc is determined to be a genuine disc. If they do not correspond to each other, the disc is determined to be a copied disc. Since a unique disc ID is recorded in the PMA when the disc is initialized, a disc ID of a genuine disc is different from a disc ID of a copied disc from the start. This difference is used as disc identification information. By recording a disc ID of a genuine disc in the PA, the determination can be realized.
