    • A return spring assembly for use in an engine intake throttle valve return device comprising a spring holder sleeve (17) including an inner and outer sleeves (18,20) placed over a throttle valve shaft (3) and connected at one end to each other so that the inner and outer sleeves (18,20) are spacedly and concentrically held. Inner and outer torsion coil springs (8,9) are supported on the inner and outer sleeves (18,20), respectively, and connected between an intake barrel (1) and the valve shaft (3) for urging the throttle valve (2) to its closed position. An eccentric radial flange (22) which may be circular, oval or polygonal is provided on the outer sleeve (20) for holding the outer torsion coil spring (9). The eccentric flange (22) extends continuously over the entire circumference of the outer sleeve (20) and has a maximum outer diametrical dimension substantially equal to the inner diameter of the outer torsion coil spring (9). The eccentric flange (22) is eccentric with respect to the outer sleeve (20) by an amount effective to prevent the outer coil spring (9) from being disclocated from the outer sleeve (20).

    • A cup-shaped spring holder having a flange on the outer periphery on the open end side is secured on the end portion of a valve shaft which protrudes outwardly from a carburetor barrel, with a clearance for coil insertion provided between the barrel and the open-end side. An outer torsion coil spring is fitted in the aforementioned spring holder to restrain an axial shift of the spring. And one end of an inner torsion coil spring fitted on the aforementioned shaft end portion is led out through the aforementioned clearance and retained by a spring retainer on the aforesaid barrel. Because of the above-described constitution, this invention features simple construction, easy manufacture, increased mechanical strength, a less number of components parts required, easy assembly, and improved valve shaft strength.

    • An idling position detecting switch for an internal-combustion engine, comprising a conductive tubular housing mounted on a throttle body of a throttle valve for regulating fuel-air mixture supply rate provided on an intake manifold for supplying a mixture to the combustion chamber of an internal-combustion engine, a push rod axially slidably supported in the housing and having one end projecting from one end of the housing so as to be in contact with a stopper connected to a valve shaft of the throttle valve, and the other end disposed within the housing and provided at the extremity thereof with a movable contact, a fixed contact disposed opposite to the movable contact within the housing, and a spring urging the push rod toward the stopper so that the movable contact is separated from the fixed contact and absorbing shocks applied to the push rod by the stopper of the throttle valve. The spring has one end firmly fixed to the push rod at a position near the movable contact and the other end firmly fixed to an inner surface of the housing. A detention mechanism is provided to prevent the turning motion of the spring within the housing due to a turning effect resulting from an axial sliding movement of the push rod.

    • A hydraulic buffer of the type in which a damping force can be controlled has a piston rod projecting from a cylinder, and a bracket attached to the projecting end of the piston rod. The bracket has at least two claws which are bent inwardly to face each other. A retainer is provided with at least two fitting portions having flukes and the fitting portions are adapted to engage with respective claws of the bracket. An actuator is attached to the retainer to control the damping force of the buffer. A spring device is provided for biasing the retainer to prevent the flukes from being disengaged from the corresponding claws of the bracket, and the spring device supports the retainer on the bracket.

    • A synchronized dog clutch according to the invention comprises a clutch shaft, a coupling sleeve splined to the clutch shaft and having dog claws at its end, a synchronizer ring slidably fitted to outer periphery of the coupling sleeve, said synchronizer ring having a conical face for frictional engagement and being rotatable together with the coupling sleeve, and a gear wheel coaxially and rotatably arranged with respect to the clutch shaft and having teeth at its outer periphery. The gear wheel is provided with a conical face and claws respectively engagable with the conical face of the synchronizer ring and the claws of the coupling sleeve. The conical face of the gear wheel is disposed closely and radially inside the teeth, and the claws of the gear wheel are arranged inside the conical face, and thereby torque transmitted through the conical faces for synchronization is increased.
