摘要： An engine positioning structure is used for a rear wheel drive automobile, with an engine mounted in an engine compartment driving the rear wheels. In the automobile having a passenger compartment and the engine compartment, where the two compartments are separated by a dash panel, the engine is positioned so that a rotation axis of the engine is at a position higher than the height of a floor panel of the passenger compartment, and a rear end part of the engine is positioned behind a general plane defined by a position corresponding to the position of a passenger relative to a dash panel. The engine positioning structure enables a retreated layout of the engine to be obtained. It also reduces Yaw moment of inertia, and improves the steering stability.

The read/write element is formed from a plurality of thin film layers superposed upon the wafer base and the head is elongated in a direction generally perpendicular to a plane generally defined by the recording/reproducing surface.

摘要： A convergence correction apparatus comprising a core for producing a bias magnetic field. The core has first, second, third and fourth coils provided thereon. The first and second coils are wound to produce a magnetic field in a direction opposite to the direction of the bias magnetic field. The third and fourth coils are wound to produce a magnetic field in the same direction as the direction of the bias magnetic field. The first and fourth coils are connected to form a first series circuit connected in parallel with a second series circuit of the third and second coils. A first terminal is connected to a junction between the first and third coils. A second terminal is connected to a junction between the second and fourth coils. A convergence correction coil is connected at one end thereof to a junction between the first and fourth coils and at the other end thereof to a junction between the second and third coils. A horizontal deflection current is applied between the first and second terminals. The bias magnetic field is produced by a bias coil provided on the core and supplied with a vertical synchronization current having a parabolic waveform. Alternatively, the basic magnetic field is produced by a combination of at least one permanent magnet provided on the core and a bias coil provided on the core and supplied with a vertical synchronization current having a parabolic waveform.

摘要： A kit for post-installing reed valves between the cylinder block of a 2-cycle engine of a jet propelled small-sized boat and an inlet manifold is characterized in that the kit comprises base plate, a carburetor plate and a reed valve case interposed between two plates. The base plate is formed with two types of holes, i.e., plain holes through which attaching bolts are screwed into threaded holes in a cylinder block and threaded holes to be used in attaching the reed valve case. The carburetor plate and reed valve case are formed with plain holes, respectively, for alignment communication with the threaded holes in the base plate to receive other bolts. The arrangement is such that the reed valves removably fitted in the reed valve case are inseparably held between the reed valve case and the carburetor plate. Thus, the 2-cycle engine can be efficiently changed from the piston valve type to the reed valve type.

摘要： An information display apparatus includes a matrix of thin-film light-emitting diodes (LEDs) disposed on a transparent substrate. The thin-film LEDs are epitaxially grown on a semiconductor substrate, then transferred in strips to the transparent substrate, anchored by intermolecular forces, and separated into individual LEDs by photolithography and etching. The anodes and cathodes of the thin-film LEDs are connected to anode and cathode driving circuits by a matrix of thin-film electrical paths formed on the transparent substrate. The matrix of LEDs and interconnections is dense enough to display images of high quality, and provides enough pixels for the display of useful text and graphics on even small information display devices.
