摘要： A graded junction termination extension in a silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor device and method of its fabrication using ion implementation techniques is provided for high power devices. The properties of silicon carbide (SiC) make this wide band gap semiconductor a promising material for high power devices. This potential is demonstrated in various devices such as p-n diodes, Schottky diodes, bipolar junction transistors, thyristors, etc. These devices require adequate and affordable termination techniques to reduce leakage current and increase breakdown voltage in order to maximize power handling capabilities. The graded junction termination extension disclosed is effective, self-aligned, and simplifies the implementation process.

A first part having one or more bayonet connectors and one or more retention pin receptacles cooperatively mates to a second part having one or more mating bayonet connectors. The second part further provides one or more retention pin bores. The first and second parts assemble to form a bayonet connection such that at least one pin retention bore aligns with at least one retention pin receptacle. At least one retention pin assembly disposed through the at least one pin retention bore selectively engages the retention pin receptacle to secure the connection of the first part to the second part of the apparatus.

One or more cam lock bores adapted to house one or more at least partially rotatable cam locks, are offset from the pin cam bores such that each cam pin bore partially intersects a corresponding cam lock bore to form an aperture through which the cam lock engages the cam pin. One or more cam pins are connected to the stripper rubber; and one or more at least partially rotatable cam locks housed in the cam lock bores of the adapter optionally engage or disengage the pin cams to respectively connect or disconnect the stripper rubber to or from the equipment.

摘要： A scroll compressor has a reduced height by having its suction tube aligned with its motor stator windings. The oil is returned from the scroll compressor to a compressor sump by confining the oil to flow through any of several structures such that it is isolated from refrigerant passing into a suction chamber through the suction tube. In this way, the oil which has been typically returned between the stator and the inner wall of the housing does not communicate with the refrigerant which is entering the housing. While the invention is shown in scroll compressor, it has benefits in other type compressors.

摘要： A method of reducing the height of a sealed compressor incorporates the use of a non-cylindrical portion of the stator windings on the compressor motor. A non-cylindrical portion provides a space between the sealed housing and the windings that can accommodate an additional component. In one embodiment, the additional component is the electrical connection, and in another embodiment, the additional component is an oil heater. Typically, these components were mounted axially beyond the extent of the motor stator, and thus required additional space. The present invention thus allows a smaller height compressor profile.

摘要： A rotating blowout preventor having at least two rotating stripper rubber seals which provide a continuous seal about a drilling string having drilling string components of varying diameter. A stationary bowl is designed to support a blowout preventor bearing assembly and receives a swivel ball that cooperates with the bowl to self-align the blowout preventor bearing assembly and the swivel ball with respect to the fixed bowl. Chilled water is circulated through the seal boxes of the blowout preventor bearing assembly and liquid such as water is pumped into the bearing assembly annulus between the stripper rubbers to offset well pressure on the stripper rubbers. Lubricant is pumped into shaft bearings and serves to prolong the life of shaft. pressure seals by offsetting well pressure against the shaft pressure seals and clamp mechanisms are used to tighten the stripper rubbers on the respective mounting elements in the bearing assembly and swivel ball. A method for sealing a drilling string at the surface of a well, which method includes the steps of mounting a rotating blowout preventor having at least two sealing stripper rubbers on the well casing or other equipment connected to the well casing, in swiveling relationship, inserting a drilling string through the rotating blowout preventor and stripper rubbers, introducing a liquid into the rotating blowout preventor, circulating water around certain pressure seals and application of hydraulic pressure on the stripper rubbers and pressure seals to offset well pressure exerted against the stripper rubbers and pressure seals.
