    • A connector housing (20) has cavities (21) and locks (31) for engaging terminal fittings (10) inserted into the cavities (21). Each lock (31) has an arm (32) and a locking section (33) that projects up from the arm (32). A mold-removal hole (35) is formed in a front wall (27) and in the arm (32). A tab insertion hole (28) is formed in the front wall (27) above the mold-removal hole (35) for receiving a tab terminal (T), and a guide surface (29) is formed at the front edge of the tab insertion hole (28) for guiding the tab (T). Upwardly narrowed portions (38) narrowed are formed on the locking section (33) and have a height overlapping the height of the guide surface (29). Portions of the mold-removal hole (35) corresponding to the narrowed portions (38) define an M-shaped when viewed from the front.

    • A connector includes male and female connector housings (10, 20). The male housing (10) has a receptacle (11) and a lock arm (15) projects into the receptacle (11) for locking the female housing (20). A slider (34) is assembled into the female housing (20) and is biased forwardly by coil springs (33). The lock arm (15) is resiliently deformable between an engaging position where it is engageable with the slider (34) and a disengaging position where it is disengaged from the slider (34). If a connecting or separating operation is interrupted halfway, spring forces accumulated in the compression coil springs (33) resiliently compressed by the slider (34) are released. Thus, the lock arm (15) is pushed forward by the slider (34) to separate the housings (10, 20) from each other.

    • A female housing (30) has cavities (32) for accommodating female terminal fittings and a retainer mounting hole (41) opens sideways across the cavities (32). A retainer (50) is mounted in the retainer mounting hole (41) and permits insertion and withdrawal of the female terminal fittings into and from the cavities (32) and projects from the side surface of the female housing (30) in a partial locking position. However, the retainer (50) is flush with the side surface of the female hosuing (30) in a full locking position. A slider (60) is fitted around the female housing (30) for movement, so that the housing (30) and the slider (60) are in sliding contact with each other. The slider (60) is formed with a retainer insertion hole (68) that can communicate with the retainer mounting hole (41). When the retainer (50) is insufficiently inserted, a detecting portion (69) interferes with a projecting portion (69) of the retainer (50) to restrict the movement of the slider (60).

    • A connector is provided to detect partial mounting of a retainer. A female housing 11 of the connector 10 is provided with an escaping portion 20, which is aligned with a lock arm 14 in its deforming direction only when a retainer 15 is mounted in a full locking position. By being aligned with the escaping portion 20, the lock arm 14 is enabled to undergo an elastic deformation to permit the connection of the female housing 11 with a male housing 12. On the other hand, if the retainer 15 is partly mounted without reaching the full locking position, the escaping portion 20 is not aligned with the lock arm 14, which refrains the lock arm 14 from being sufficiently elastically deformed. As a result, the female and males housings 11, 12 cannot be connected, which enables detection of partial mounting of the retainer 15. Thus, partial mounting of the retainer 15 can be securely detected by setting a degree of deformation of the lock arm 14 larger than a clearance between the housings 11 and 12.

    • A connector has an inner housing with a cavity for housing a terminal fitting, an outer housing assembled displaceably to the inner housing and a rubber plug. The rubber plug has a sealing portion, a vibration reducing portion and a vibration absorbing portion. The sealing portion is mounted fixedly on a rear end portion of the terminal fitting and is brought into close contact with an inner peripheral surface of the cavity. The vibration reducing portion is fit in a holding hole formed in the outer housing and thus is displaced with the outer housing. The vibration absorbing portion has a smaller thickness than the vibration reducing portion and connects the sealing portion to the vibration reducing portion. The vibration absorbing portion is outside the holding hole and in front of the holding hole.
