    • An aerosol dispensing device comprises a tubular body (2, 3) that provides a plenum (32), a mouthpiece (1) having an outlet (34), a valve (17) for dispensing fluid from a canister (5) as an aerosol with relatively large and small droplet sizes into the plenum for supply to a user through the mouthpiece, and a baffle arrangement (26, 27) that provides first (33) and second (36) passageways each coupled at one end to the plenum and so configured to receive relatively small and large size droplets in the aerosol respectively, the other end of the first passageway (33) extending to the outlet (34) in the mouthpiece to supply the small size droplets to the user, and the other end of the second passageway (36) being closed to inhibit passage of the large size droplets to the mouthpiece outlet, and containing a absorbent pad (31) to prevent leakage of liquid from the canister. The pad (31) may be pre-loaded with a flavourant.

    • A technique for facilitating the management of a wireless database related to station records and radio-frequency (RF) information by reducing unnecessary sharing of the data among wireless switches, thus enhancing efficiency in a wireless network. A system constructed according to the technique includes a collection of wireless switches with each switch having associated access points (AP), an AP database distributed throughout the collection of wireless switches, and at least one station radio frequency (RF) database. The AP database includes data associated with ownership of the AP's by the switches, and the station RF database includes wireless station information and RF information. AP radio adjacency is determined by whether an AP owned by a specific switch can detect the other AP owned by another switch. The station and RF information database is shared only within the subset of switches that have AP radio adjacency.

    • A network device provides services for multiple virtual private networks (VPNs) via one or more virtual hosts. For example, a router receives packets from multiple VPNs, and communicates the packets to a service card via a logical interface in accordance with a forwarding information base. A virtual host within the service card processes the packets and provides a service for the network device from which the packet was sent. The virtual host may, for example, provide print services for network devices within a corresponding VPN. The virtual host acts, in essence, as a print server within the corresponding VPN. In this manner, the router may eliminate the need for the customer associated with the VPN to maintain print servers within remote customer sites.

    • A convertible retaining ring pliers has a pivot, first and second jaws and first and second handles rotatably secured about the pivot. A pair of transfer pins is slidably disposed for selective movement in the jaws and the handles for establishing alternative operating positions enabling the jaws to move either inwardly or outwardly as the handles move inwardly. A switching mechanism is provided for simultaneous shifting of the transfer pins in the jaws and the handles.
