摘要： A powder amount detector detects an amount of powder in a powder container of a cylindrical shape arranged horizontally. The powder amount detector includes a pair of measuring electrodes configured to detect capacitance between the pair of measuring electrodes to detect the amount of powder. The pair of measuring electrodes is disposed around the powder container. One of the pair of measuring electrodes has a flat shape, and the other of the pair of measuring electrodes has an arc shape following a shape of the powder container.

摘要： A powder container includes a powder chamber for containing powder for forming images, a powder outlet formed in a face of the powder container, and a shutter assembly to open and close the powder outlet and including first and second shutters. The first shutter is movable between a sealing position to close the powder outlet and an open position to open the powder outlet and includes a pressed member to cancel retention of the first shutter at the sealing position. The second shutter includes a pressing projection that interferes with the pressed member of the first shutter and is movable between a shielding position to cover the pressed member without interference between the pressing projection and the pressed member and a releasing position to press the pressed member with the pressing projection.

摘要： A developer container includes a container body, a rotary shaft, a rotary stirrer, and a flexible blade. The container body contains developer and has a discharge port. The rotary stirrer includes a rotary support and rotates about the rotary shaft to stir and transport the developer. The rotary support includes a base end rotatable integrally with the rotary shaft, a free end spaced away from an inner wall of the container body, and a holding surface provided at the free end or at a position shifted toward the rotary shaft away from the free end. The holding surface is parallel to or inclined relative to a rotation direction of the rotary support. The flexible blade includes a base end portion held on the holding surface and a distal end to contact the inner wall and transport the developer to the discharge port.

The channel forming member defines, with the side wall, a supply route extending over an entire development range, through which developer moves from the supply compartment to the developer bearer, and defines, with an inner wall of the development casing, a collecting route through which developer blocked by the developer regulator is collected in the supply compartment. Both axial end portions of the channel forming member are supported by the development casing.

摘要： A carboxyl resin according to the present invention is obtained by a process including following steps: epoxy groups on a resin (a) having two or more epoxy groups in one molecule is made to react with 0.3-0.85 mol of a monocarboxylic acid (b) per one epoxy-group equivalent weight to obtain a reaction product (c); the epoxy group or groups on the reaction product (c) are made to react with 0.15-0.95 mol of a polybasic acid (d) per one epoxy-group equivalent weight to obtain a reaction product (e); and the epoxy group or groups on the reaction product (e) are further made to react with 1.0-5.0 mol of a monocarboxylic acid (f) per one epoxy-group equivalent weight. The carboxyl resin thus obtained has an acid value within a range from 20 to 200 mgKOH/g and is soluble in an organic solvent.
