    • A mechanical timepiece movement has a mainspring serving as a power source, a wheel train rotated by a rotational force produced by the mainspring for driving a display, and an escapement and speed control apparatus for controlling rotation of the wheel train and having a balance with hairspring, an escape wheel and pinion and a pallet fork. A stud holder is rotatably mounted with respect to a central axis of the balance with hairspring and a hairspring holder is attached to the stud holder to undergo movement in a direction orthogonal to the central axis of the balance with hairspring. A hairspring has a central portion fixed to the balance with hairspring and an outer portion fixed to the hairspring holder. The hairspring is adjustable by pivoting the hairspring holder.

    • A correction device for a timepiece comprises a setting wheel which has a rotational center and which is rotatably mountable to a movement of a timepiece for undergoing rotation in accordance with rotation of a winding stem. A rocking bar has a rotational center on an axis line coinciding with an axis line of the rotational center of the setting wheel and is mounted for undergoing rocking movement in a first rotational direction relative to the movement of the timepiece and undergoing rocking movement in a second rotational direction different from the first rotational direction. The rocking bar has a first portion extended in a first direction from the rotational center and a second portion extended in a second direction from the rotational center. At least one first correction transfer wheel is disposed at the first portion of the rocking bar for undergoing rotation in accordance with rotation of the setting wheel. At least one second correction transfer wheel is disposed at the second portion of the rocking bar for undergoing rotation in accordance with rotation of the setting wheel.

    • A developer cartridge designed to permit discrimination of whether the cartridge is used or unused, and an image forming apparatus using this cartridge. The developer cartridge includes a cylindrical body whose rotational axis extends in a direction perpendicular to a developer carrying direction of the developing unit; a first developer storage room, provided at the cylindrical body, for storing an unused developer; an opening formed in the first developer storage room; a case having a cylinder for rotatably retaining the cylindrical body, the cylinder having an injection port provided in association with the opening of the first developer storage room; a second developer storage room, provided at a lower portion of the cylinder of the case, for storing a used developer from the developing unit; and a setting device selectively movable to a first position indicating an unused share of the developer cartridge and a second position indicating a used state of the developer cartridge to detect if the developer cartridge is unused or used. The image forming apparatus includes an endless latent carrier; an apparatus for forming an electrostatic latent image on the endless latent carrier; developing means for developing the electrostatic latent image on the endless latent carrier; a developer cartridge detachably attached to the developing means for exchanging developers, and having the same components as the above-described cartridge; drive apparatus for driving the cylindrical body of the developer cartridge for developer exchange; a detecting unit for detecting the setting device of the developer cartridge to detect if the developer cartridge is unused or used; and a control circuit for controlling the drive apparatus in accordance with a detection result from the detecting unit.

    • A tandem liquid pressure control device for an anti-lock brake system includes a tandem liquid pressure control cylinder disposed between a tandem master cylinder and the vehicle brakes, and a mechanism for driving the liquid pressure control means for movement in a direction causing a reduction or elevation in braking liquid pressure for an anti-lock operation. The liquid pressure control cylinder contains a first liquid pressure control piston adapted to be driven by the driving mechanism for movement in the direction causing pressure reduction or elevation and a second liquid pressure control piston mounted coaxially with the first piston and movably in a floating way, and defines a first and a second liquid pressure control chambers in which the pressures of the braking liquid are controlled by the movement of the first and second pistons. A solenoid valve is provided for cutting off the supply of the braking liquid from the chambers of the master cylinder to the brakes through the first and second liquid pressure control chambers in response to a cutoff signal inputted from an external source, before the first and second pistons are moved.

    • A calendar mechanism of a timepiece includes a date indicator having a date wheel portion provided with a notched portion. An operation lever attached to the date indicator is pivotable between a pre-feed allowing position, where a tooth-shaped engaged portion thereof is inserted into the notched portion whereby excess feeding of the date indicator is possible, and a normal feed allowing position, where the tooth-shaped engaged portion retreats from the notched portion whereby normal feeding is possible. The date indicator is rotated by a day earlier than the normal feeding when set to the pre-feed allowing position. A driving lever structure includes a cam follower engaged with a month cam and is driven in response to rotation of the month cam to allow the operation lever to be pivoted between the normal feed allowing position and the pre-feed allowing position.
