    • The invention describes a method for pulse-width modulated (PWM) current control of a load current (IL) of an inductive load (L) by means of at least one switch element (T1) for switching the load current (IL), wherein a first operating mode (I) is executed for operating the inductive load (L) if a change in the current setpoint value (ISOLL) occurs, wherein an initial duty-cycle (DC) of the pulse-width modulation (PWM) is determined in the first operating mode (I), which is used for operating the inductive load (L) in a second operating mode (II), and a switching state of the switch element (T1) is established in the first operating mode (I) depending on whether a current setpoint value (ISOLL) of the load current (IL) is higher or lower than a current setpoint value (ISOLL,t−1) of a directly preceding cycle, wherein the switching state is maintained until achieving a current limit value (ISOLL,o,I, ISOLL,u,I) and is switched over upon achieving the current limit value (ISOLL,o,I, ISOLL,u,I), wherein multiple switch-overs of the switching state of the switch element (T1) occur in order to generate a predetermined number (N) of periods, and on the basis of at least one part of the predetermined number (N) of periods, the duty-cycle (DC, DCmean) of the pulse-width modulation (PWM) is determined, which is used as the initial duty cycle (DC) for the second operating mode (II). The invention further describes a corresponding electronic circuit arrangement.
