摘要： A micro-fluidic valve system is provided which includes a micro-fluidic valve actuator apparatus, a fluid distribution manifold and a micro-fluidic POD apparatus. The POD apparatus includes a POD housing that defines an interior central passage extending from a distal mounting end of the housing to a proximal portion thereof. The POD apparatus further includes a stator device disposed in the interior central passage, and includes a distal stator face that cooperates with an opening in the distal mounting end to define a gasket receptacle. A relatively thin, elastomeric gasket member is disposed in the gasket receptacle of the housing in abutting contact between the stator and a communication face of the manifold. A fluid-tight seal is then formed between each respective stator communication port of the stator device and a corresponding manifold communication port of the manifold.

This shaft includes a motor driven end, and another portion thereof rotatably mounted to the chassis for rotation about a screw rotational axis. A piston drive member threadably cooperates with the lead screw shaft for selective reciprocating movement longitudinally along the screw rotational axis thereof between a first position and a second position. The drive member includes a pair of spaced-apart piston shafts, each piston shaft of which includes a respective piston head slideably received in a respective piston bore of the chassis. As the drive member is driven along the screw shaft between the first position and the second position, each piston head is simultaneously reciprocated between a dispensing condition and an aspiration condition. An anti-rotation device cooperates between the pump chassis and the drive member to substantially prevent rotational displacement of the drive member relative to the pump chassis and about the screw rotational axis during rotational motion of the screw shaft.

In some embodiments, the multi-laser system includes a plurality of lasers, a plurality of laser beams, a beam positioning system, a thermally stable enclosure, and a temperature controller. The thermally stable enclosure can help maintain alignment of the laser beams to a target object over a range of ambient temperatures. Various embodiments of an optical system for directing light for optical measurements such laser-induced fluorescence and spectroscopic analysis are disclosed. In some embodiments, the optical system includes a thermally conductive housing and a thermoelectric controller, a plurality of optical fibers, and one or more optical elements to direct light emitted by the optical fibers to illuminate a flow cell. The housing is configured to attach to a flow cell.

摘要： A modular sensor for a fluidic analysis or biological assay system, such as an analytical instrument system, and other systems involving fluid flow, includes a cap and base which include one or more sensors therein, which may be a flow sensor, a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, a pH sensor, and so forth. The base of the modular sensor includes input and output ports for fluid passageways therethrough to provide a fluid pathway which is at least partially adjacent to or near the sensor. The modular sensor may also include an adapter having ports adapted to sealingly engage with fitting assemblies. The sensor may be partially or wholly encapsulated as part of the base of the modular sensor. The modular sensor's base and cap are adapted so that a first modular sensor can be disconnected and removed from a fluidic system and a second modular sensor can be added and connected to the system in place of the first modular sensor. The modular sensor is adapted to be interchangeable with one or more other modular sensors.
