    • The invention relates to a roller hearth furnace for heating workpieces, comprising at least one furnace chamber for receiving the workpieces, the chamber having at least two lateral furnace walls. At least one transport roller for transporting the workpieces through the furnace chamber is arranged inside the furnace chamber, and each of the furnace walls has at least one opening through which the transport roller can be guided. At least one rolling bearing unit is arranged on each of the outer sides of the furnace walls, said rolling bearing unit being designed to accommodate and support the transport roller outside the furnace chamber. The roller hearth furnace comprises a flushing system for the rolling bearing unit, said flushing system being designed to conduct a flushing gas through the rolling bearing unit, wherein the flushing gas can be conducted from a side of the rolling bearing unit facing away from the furnace wall through the rolling bearing unit and through the opening of the furnace wall into the furnace chamber of the roller hearth furnace. The invention further relates to a method for heating workpieces in such a roller hearth furnace.

    • Disclosed in the present invention are a combustion furnace with coaxial staged hearth and heating method thereof, in which the combustion furnace comprises a metal furnace body (40) whose internal part is provided with a furnace chamber. The furnace chamber is divided into two sections at the middle by fire resistant material to form a left and a right independent combustion chambers (18, 19). Two independent combustion chambers (18, 19) are respectively connected with the ends of flue gas chambers (2, 60), while the other ends of the flue gas chambers (2, 60) are respectively connected with a burner (3). The peripherals of two independent combustion chambers (18, 19) are respectively provided with a flue gas heat radiation pipe (14). A middle flue gas chamber (100) is set in the middle position of the furnace chamber. Two ends of the flue gas heat radiation pipe (14) are respectively connected with the flue gas chamber (2, 60) and the middle flue gas chamber (100). Two independent combustion chambers (18, 19) are communicated with each other through the flue gas chamber (2, 60), the flue gas heat radiation pipe (14) and the middle flue gas chamber (100), and combust alternately. A suspension device including a portal frame (50) is provided for suspending the metal furnace body (40) horizontally or obliquely. The metal furnace body (40) is suspended on the portal frame (50) at a suspending point (41). A walking mechanism (20) and a feeding mechanism (9) are also set on the portal frame (50).

    • A temperature-specific compound applied to refractory substrates having molten metal-contacting surfaces creates a chemically active and viscous surface that dramatically increases the ability of the treated substrate to remove slag, dross and other inclusions from a base metal alloy as it passes through or contacts the substrate. The refractory substrates include molten metal filters used by foundries and metal casters such as reticulated ceramic foam, cellular/honeycomb, silica mesh, and others that rely on their physical or sieving ability to remove particulate impurities from the base alloy being cast. The chemically active surfaces significantly increase filtration efficiency through a treatment process tailored to the specific chemistry of the alloy being filtered, such as ferrous metals that include iron, steel and more. Other refractory substrates such as aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, zirconium oxide, aluminum silicate, silicon carbide (as common with reticulated ceramic foam filters) and the like may also include the coatings.

The system may include a crucible insulated with fused silica, a microwave generator configured to supply microwaves, and at least one burner probe extending into the crucible. The at least one burner probe may include a wave guide. The wave guide may be configured to receive microwaves from the microwave generator and transmit the microwaves. The at least one burner probe may further include an absorber. The absorber may have a geometry configured to cause a minimal amount of microwave energy to be reflected back into the wave guide. In addition, the absorber may include a one piece cast of silicon carbide configured to dissipate heat along an exterior of the absorber. The absorber may be further configured to receive the microwaves from the wave guide and convert energy from the microwaves into the heat.
