    • A dual magnification mirror system includes two mirrors having different magnifications, e.g., 5× and 7×, each mounted in a frame fastened to an opposite end of an elongated flexible arm. Each frame is so constructed as to enable it to be interchangeably placeable, mirror face down, on a horizontal supporting surface, such as that of a table or counter top, thus locating the other mirror above the supporting surface, at viewing position which is adjustable by a user by bending the flexible arm. The system also includes a wall mounting bracket fastenable to a vertical wall surface, the mounting bracket having on a front surface thereof a pocket for downwardly insertably receiving and supporting a peripheral flange which protrudes radially outwards from each mirror frame, thus enabling each mirror to be interchangeably inserted into the pocket, and thereby locating the other mirror at a flexibly adjustable viewing position spaced outwardly from the mounting bracket. Preferably, the mounting bracket is provided with rearwardly protruding fasteners, such as suction cups, which are releasably attachable to a vertical surface of an object such as a window, shower door, cabinet or the like.

    • A suction sign holder is provided having a suction cup and a tack. The suction cup and tack having mating surfaces between which a sign is held. The mating surfaces can be provided with a plurality of concentric grooves and ridges or other projections which mate together and frictionally hold a sign therebetween. The shaft of the tack can be provided with a raised rib or a groove disposed on the shaft of the tack at an angle. The rib may additionally have a sloping leading edge and a perpendicular trailing edge such that the shaft is easily inserted yet resists backing out of the bore.

    • A water-resistant clock with a plurality of double suction cups by which it may be retained on a smooth surface. A crystal is attached to the front casing with a front gasket. Three arms extend from the clock's casing, spaced apart on the clock's circumference at equal 120 degree angles. On the rear side of each arm is a double suction cup, by which the clock may be attached to a wall. Pull tabs on each suction cup make it easier to remove the suction cups, and thereby the clock, from the surface to which it is attached. The clock's rear casing is fastened to the front casing in a watertight manner. A back cover fits against a protruding rear circular gasket between the back cover and the rear casing to form a watertight seal. The rear gasket is partially covered by three outwardly extending arcuate prongs, which engage three inwardly extending arcuate prongs on the back cover, when the back cover is closed, creating a water-resistant seal that protects the clockworks. The suction cups should be made of rubber or flexible plastic such as polyvinyl chloride or an injection-molded elastomer, and be capable of retaining the clock on a smooth flat vertical surface for an extended period of time, as in a shower stall.

    • A condensation-free shower mirror includes a housing (11) holding a mirror (10) and a urethane water container (18). The water container, which is substantially the same size and shape as the mirror, is fitted against the back side of the mirror. The water container is fitted with a filling-cap assembly (12) to allow a water-tight seal. Two suction cups (14) extending from the back side of the housing allows the shower mirror to be easily mounted against a shower stall or a wall mirror. When the container is filled with hot water, it heats the mirror above the dew point of water, so that the mirror will remain condensation-free in a steamy environment. Because the shower mirror can be filled with hot tap water, it is portable so that it can be conveniently used in any bathroom.

    • A self-closing holder made of molded, flexible material for supporting at least one object such as a wire on a smooth, nonporous receiving surface. The holder has a concavo-convex suction cup portion having a concave inner surface that engages with the receiving surface, and a convex outer surface. A cylindrical holding portion is integral with and extends outwardly from the convex cup surface. The holding portion is formed of at least one pair of legs, each pair of legs being separated by a slit opening to an exposed end of the holding portion for receiving a thin, lightweight member such as a cord, wire or hook. An annular shoulder is disposed on the cup portion convex surface. The shoulder has an inner diameter that is concentric with and connected to the cylindrical holding portion. When the cup portion is not mounted on a receiving surface, the legs are sufficiently spaced to allow insertion of at least a portion of the object into the slit. As the cup portion is mounted on the receiving surface, the shoulder is moved by the cup portion, and the shoulder in turn moves the legs toward one another such that the legs hold the object.

    • An improved approach to printshop paste-up operations involves a vacuum table having a grid of closely spaced air passage apertures in the top surface, a mounting member for receiving sheets carrying text and illustrative material comprising a sheet apertured to match the grid of said top surface having a imperforated border facilitating vacuum positioning on said top surfaces with apertures aligned, arranging and rearranging sheets of text and illustrative material on said mounting member while preventing unintended movement thereof by the vacuum effect at apertures covered thereby until desired composition is achieved, and then bonding a transparent plastic sheet over the mounting member and arranged sheets of text and illustrative material to provide an assemblage which is durable for transport, printshop use and extended storage. The expendable mounting members are provided in a number of standard sizes, and the vacuum table includes adjustable baffle means to confine effective vacuum to the size mounting member in use. In a preferred adaptation the vacuum table is superimposed on a light source and both the top surface and the mounting member are translucent, facilitating a combination of back lighting and incident lighting during such paste-up operations.
