The electric power meter also has a frequency domain correction unit arranged to correct the voltage frequency components and the current frequency components by multiplying at least one frequency component of the current frequency components and the voltage frequency components with a complex correction factor using a complex multiplication unit. Electric power is computed by an energy calculation unit.

摘要： Power detectors with temperature compensation and having improved accuracy over temperature are disclosed. In an aspect of the disclosure, variations of a power detector gain over temperature is reduced by varying both the gate and drain voltages of MOS transistors within a power detector. In an exemplary design, an apparatus includes at least one MOS transistor, which receives an input signal, detects the power of the input signal based on a power detection gain, and provides an output signal indicative of the power of the input signal. The at least one MOS transistor is applied a variable gate bias voltage and a variable drain bias voltage in order to reduce variations of the power detection gain over temperature. At least one additional MOS transistor may receive a second variable gate bias voltage and provide the variable drain bias voltage for the at least one MOS transistor.

摘要： A pre-amplifier circuit for connection to an antenna of a human-portable locator includes a differential amplifier/mixer pair and means for allowing a common-mode “phantom” signal to modulate a transfer function of the differential amplifier/mixer pair. The common-mode phantom signal modulates the transfer function of the differential pre-amplifier “onboard” the antenna without the usual requirement for onboard power supply and signal oscillator. This technique uses the same electronic components to provide both pre-amplification and mixing functions, thereby improving circuit performance-to-cost ratio, reducing mixer power consumption, situating the necessary signal oscillator remotely from the mixer, and greatly improving the available system bandwidth by limiting spectral transmission demands to the mixed signal bandwidth alone.

摘要： A measuring transducer for process instrumentation that comprises a sensor for sensing a physical or chemical variable, wherein the sensor includes at least one electrical element embedded in a substrate comprising semiconducting material and is electrically separated therefrom by a blocked PN junction during normal operation. In order to monitor the condition of the sensor, the PN junction is connected in the conducting direction in a test mode, and the electrical property of the PN junction, i.e., the forward voltage, is determined and used to monitor the sensor condition. Additionally, a temperature sensor mounted on the sensor can be monitored by determining, based on the dependence of the forward voltage on the temperature, a comparative value for the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor. If major differences occur, a conclusion can be reached that there is a failure of the sensor, and a corresponding error message can be output over a field bus.

摘要： An electric power measuring device wherein input analogue signals representative of instantaneous values of current and voltage are applied to a multiplier (23) and the resulting product signal is applied to a converter (35, 37, 41, 43, 45, 47) to provide a pulse output signal having a pulse rate representative of the product, and hence of the level of power consumption. The converter is of the kind including a capacitor (35) which is charged during successive periods of equal duration by the product signal and a much larger reference signal which reverses at the end of each capacitor charging period until the capacitor charge does not reverse in polarity during a charging period, so that reversal of charge on the capacitor is assured during the next charging period, whereafter the direction of the reference signal is again reversed at the end of each charging period. The reference signal is constituted by a bias signal component in the output of the multiplier to avoid errors in the converter output pulse rate due to spurious variations in the output of the multiplier.
