    • An auxiliary handlebar is mounted at one end of a bicycle handlebar and is composed of a main body, a sleeve fitted over the main body, and a cap fastened with the top end of the main body. The main body is fastened at the bottom end thereof with a fastening mount which is engaged with the one end of the bicycle handlebar. The main body is provided at the top end thereof with an outer threaded portion and a recessed portion. The sleeve is provided at the top end thereof with a protrusion and is rotatably fitted over the main body such that the protrusion is movably received in the recessed portion of the main body. The cap is provided with an inner threaded portion and fastened with the top end of the main body such that the inner threaded portion of the cap is engaged with the outer threaded of the top end of the main body.

    • A method of making a hand grip including positioning within a mold cavity a tubular member having a sidewall with at least one opening in the sidewall, and injecting fluid resilient material into the cavity and between the tubular member and a core. The method further includes flowing a portion of the liquid resilient material through the opening to form a raised portion that protrudes through the opening in the tubular member, and curing the resilient material. The flowing step comprises flowing fluid resilient material through both the opening and through the open end, and onto the outer surface of the tubular member adjacent the peripheries of the opening and open end such that the resilient material is mechanically coupled to the tubular member adjacent both the opening and the open end. The resilient material injected into the tubular member has a preselected durometer, and the method further includes forming at least a portion of an end portion from a material having a higher durometer than the preselected durometer.

    • A grip for a shaft is provided. The grip includes an elongated tubular body having an axis, an outer surface on the body including a polygonal outer surface portion which is polygonal in transverse cross section defining flats joined at vertices and an inner surface on the body including a first inner surface portion opposite the polygonal outer surface portion. The first inner surface portion has a plurality of longitudinally extending grooves respectively disposed parallel to and in radial alignment with the vertices of the polygonal outer surface portion, whereby when the grip is disposed on the shaft and a user's hand applies pressure to one of the vertices, that vertex will flex inwardly toward the shaft thereby relieving pressure on the user's hand.

    • A warning device for incorporation in the handle-bar of a bicycle has a casing with a tubular portion and a head portion. The tubular portion fits inside the end of the handle-bar while the head portion abuts the end of the handle-bar. A flat spring member with an arc-like configuration extends longitudinally outside the tubular portion to engage the inside of the handle-bar and retain the casing in its installed position. There is a battery cell within the tubular portion as well as circuitry. A piezoelectric transducer mounted inside the head portion is connected to the circuitry to form an oscillatory circuit. A switch is mounted externally of the head portion, preferably extending back over the end of the handle-bar. One side of the switch is connected through the spring member to one side of the cell and the other side of the switch is connected to the oscillatory circuit. Closing of the switch supplies power to the oscillatory circuit causing the transducer to generate a warning sound.

    • Novel handlebars for a bicycle are disclosed. The handlebars include a crosspiece connected to a bicycle steering post with sideways portions extending therefrom. The handlebars of the invention have hand grip portions that are located relatively close together to encourage the rider to adopt a riding position in which the frontal area of the rider's silhouette is minimized, and in which the rider's elbows are located ahead of the rider's lungs. Turned handlebar portions extend from the sideways portions and extend generally forwardly and inwardly to define a pair of forward handle portions spaced apart a distance less than the width of the crosspiece. A front loop portion interconnects the forward handle portions so that all of the portions define a continuous loop forward of the steering post.A handlebar adapter is provided for a bicycle having an original handlebar. The adapter is a generally U-shaped extension loop that projects forwardly away from the rider and defines a pair of handgrip positions in which the rider's arms extend forwardly toward the handgrip portions and the rider's elbows are loctated near the original handlebar.An adapter is also provided for a bicycle with forwardly extending portions terminating in a pair of handgrips. The adapter includes structure to interconnect the pair of handgrips.
