    • A fuse apparatus (1) is provided for selectively interrupting a load current (Ia) flowing between a pair of associated conductor leads. The fuse apparatus includes at least two spaced apart electrically conductive contact elements (5) operatively connected with the associated conductor leads. A fuse element (7) is connected to the contact elements (5) using an electrically conductive connection material (9) to allow the current (Ia) to flow between the pair of associated conductor leads. The connection material (9) is adapted to electrically disconnect the fuse element (7) from the contact elements (5) when the current (Ia) exceeds a predetermined current intensity. The connection material (9) has an intrinsic electrical transition resistance characteristic whereby the material develops a temperature in proportion to an intensity of the current. The connection material melts as the current increases to separate the fuse element from the contact elements.

    • A fuse in which molten metal can be positively held or retained in a housing when a fuse element melts, and the melting of the fuse element can be easily confirmed. The fuse includes the fuse element including opposite side portions respectively defining a pair of metal terminals which are connected together through an element having a fusible portion, and are disposed in a generally common plane, and a flap of a metal material which is bendable at the boundary between the flap and the element, an insulating member being formed on at least one face of the flap; and a housing including opposite side portions respectively defining a pair of terminal receiving portions for respectively receiving the pair of terminals, and a central portion defining an element receiving portion for receiving the element, the element receiving portion having an open portion at its upper side. When the flap is bent, that face of the flap having the insulating member formed thereon is exposed to the exterior.

    • A fuse holder is adapted to be connected to a charge/discharge line which connects to a storage battery, a charge line for charging the storage battery and a discharge line for discharging the storage battery. The fuse holder includes a holder casing having mutually confronting first and second walls which define a cavity within the holder casing, a first contact provided on the first wall of the holder casing and electrically connected to the charge/discharge line, a second contact provided on the second wall of the holder casing, where the second contact has first and second parts which are mutually isolated and are exposed at a surface confronting the first contact, the first part is electrically connected to the charge line and the second part is electrically connected to the discharge line, and a fuse having a first end connected to the first contact and a second end connected to the second contact. The second end of the fuse makes contact with the first and second parts of the second contact thereby electrically connecting the charge line and the discharge line.
