The invention applies the multi-disk data cartridges to a “jukebox” system in which one of the data cartridges is inserted into a computing device that de-cartridges and positions the data storage disks on one or more disk drives for reading or recording. A multi-disk data cartridge may comprise a cartridge housing with dimensions that conform to a magnetic tape cartridge housing standard form factor. The data cartridges may include blue disk media, such as Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. In order to integrate blue disk media into the data cartridge described herein, the blue disk media may comprise dimensions that conform to a non-standard blue disk form factor. In other cases, a cartridge housing may conform to a non-standard form factor based on dimensions of a standard form factor blue disk.

摘要： A disk playback apparatus such as a CD player comprises a case and a lift unit which is supported to be movable in the vertical direction to the case. The lift unit comprises a playback unit, a turntable, a holder drawing member, and the like. A magazine which is adapted to be loaded in the case accommodates therein disk holders, each of which hold one of different-sized disks. A control link having a holder butting pin and a disk control pin is movably mounted on the playback unit which is urged in the direction of departing from the disk by means of a release spring. When the disk holder reaches its accommodation position, the disk holder butts against the holder butting pin and rotates the control link slightly, thereby the disk control pin compulsively corrects the position of the disk. Thus the disk is certainly transported to the normal chucking position on the playback unit irrespective of the disk accommodated state in the disk holder.

摘要： A tray is provided in an apparatus main body so that it can be freely loaded or unloaded in the depth direction. The tray is enclosed in an enclosing port of the front portion. A plurality of magazine racks each having a plurality of slots which can enclose media are arranged in the depth direction in the tray. The medium in the magazine rack is conveyed between an optical disk drive and the rack by an accessor provided in the apparatus. The magazine rack has a box-shaped rack main body which is opened only in the lateral direction for the loading/unloading direction of the tray in a tray enclosing state. The rack main body has a handle in the upper portion so as to be freely folded down. An emulation unit selects a form by a dip switch. In the first type, all of the optical disk media emulates a hard disk drive of one volume. In the second type, each of a plurality of optical disk media emulates a hard disk drive of one volume. Further, in the third type, a predetermined number of media among the plurality of optical disk media enclosed in the magazine rack are grouped and each group emulates a hard disk drive of one volume.
